I always see it when I go to the movies. I have no issue with it since it's before the movie and it's for a good cause. I usually give them any loose change I have it my pockets.

I think I would call them out and tell them loudly and firmly how inappropriate their actions were.
I would also ask to speak to the manager, request a refund, and complain to the corporate office.
That's just ridiculous.

ok if you say so

they have been comming around asking for donations for the Jimmy Fund for as long as i can remember and ive never had an issue with it, sometimes i give 1$ or so sometimes i dont

WTF is the Jimmy Fund? And I've never had anyone come around asking for money at the movies. Since I never go unless it's something I REALLY want to see I'd be really pissed if they wasted time on crap like that.

And movie theaters wonder why people would much rather stay home and relax in front of their home theater. Retarded.

http://www.jimmyfund.org/

Jimmy fund is more of a New England thing which is most likely why a lot nave never heard of it, but the idea of supporting a charity and asking for donations at a movie thearter is not forign to me and does not bother me at all

some of you need to take the lamp post you have suck up your asses out

Why should I pay at least $20/person for tickets/snacks for the privilege of getting hit up for even MORE money? I could rent a movie and buy snacks for under $10 and relax at home.

It's moot anyway for me because they don't do that around here.

Do you bitch and moan to stores that allow the Salvation Army to have ringers at the front of their stores?

You don't see the difference between a stationary bell ringer and kettle and a group of people personally confronting you while seated in a theater that you just spent $12.00 for a ticket to sit in? FWIW I also object to being pressured by management at work to give to United Way. I give to charities I find worthy because I want to help their cause, not so my boss can score points with his boss or corporate or so some theater manager can gain bragging rights to his regional manager.

Exaggerate much? I don't hate people with cancer or Venezuelan kids without lips or whatever, but why do they have to barge into the theater and get all up in peoples' faces?

If they want to raise money, ask for donations when you buy tickets or snacks (like grocery stores do). Or put someone out front. Just don't hassle me when I'm in the theater.
