Damn, why do such good things have to happen like this? I?m currently working for an IT company as a Web Development Intern making $15 an hour with a usual workload of around 30 hours a month (yes month!). I recently received an email from my boss that said something to the affect of "Once we land a couple of big contracts, we are going to hire you on salaried full time." That is so exciting to me because I absolutely LOVE the company I work for! Great people (I?m friends with many of them), great environment, everything I could wish for!
Here is where it gets crappy, my girlfriend works at the same company, as an intern, doing the same job, making the same wage of $15 an hour. I have a gut feeling that they won't be hiring her.... So while I will be having one of those "This is my first full time job and I'll actually be making a good living." moments, she'll be thinking "Wow, I feel so inadequate." and ?Why didn?t they pick me?? moments.
You see my predicament? Though, there is no way in hell I?d turn them down?. it?s still a sticky situation.
How do you guys think I should handle it?
