Wow! Titanic remains a very emotional movie.

Past Lifer 1957-2014 In Memoriam
Just watched the second half of it on television. It's just as emotional a movie today as when I saw it at the theatre so many years ago. The last 2.5 hours of the ship must have been so awful for all those poor people. 🙁

The scene where she jumps back on the ship (after Zane and Leo put her on the lifeboat), as unreal as it may be, was awesome. So was the one with the final goodbyes. And Rose passing on ("an old woman, warm in her bed" as Dawson predicts) and reuniting with him with all the dead people looking on - ideal ending as well. (About 11ty billion times better than that alternate ending with Bill Paxton's character confronting Rose as he catches her trying to throw away the diamond - seriously, worst alternate ending ever).

Yeah, that movie had its moments.

This might seem weird, but the scene that truly affects me and makes me feel extremely sad is the scene when the ship is almost in a vertical position, and Rose climbs all the way to the top. And when she makes it to the top, she looks at this guy who is at the top as well. They just look at each other without saying anything.

That scene just kills me.

The scene where Rose is in the lifeboat while it's being lowered and looking back up at Jack with the skyrocket burst blurred in the background was the height of the movie. Anyone that does not get choked up or sheds a tear or too isn't human!

Oh and welds > rivets. 😛

I liked the movie too. I haven't seen it in years, but I enjoyed it very much. I'd love to travel on a ship like that(but buoyant :^P). Things were done with much more class years ago. The Titanic was a work of art :^)

And, if Rose had stayed in the lifeboat, Jack would have survived by being the one floating on the hunk of wood. Rose's actions led to Jack's death.

Not likely. Jack wound up where he did because he was with Rose. In order to be near that exact piece of wood he would've had to follow the same exact footsteps as he did when he was with Rose which he would not have.
