Wow... they unleashed Street View in Canada like crazy

As of a week ago only a few major Canadian cities had street view. Now virtually everywhere is covered overnight. Holyyyy shit they covered a lot.

My town is covered! Somehow they managed not to find my car anywhere that I'd park it though. Sneaky

It's annoying they won't drive down streets Google Maps does not have though. The maps for my town are way way out of date. If you look at street view you can see down the street but they don't go down it because it's not on their maps.

They've had my town for 6 months i think, and it's not exactly a "major city". Major for SK, but it ain't Toronto.

They seemed to have some odd places other than major cities for no apparent reason. I'm guessing you live in PA

Edit: wow coverage of Europe has improved a lot too (at least Spain, France and Italy)

Canada
Mexico
Malaysia
Norway
Sweden

Pretty damn impressive. I can't wait until there's more coverage.
 
Well holy crap. A good chunk of my job is making site visits to the middle of nowhere, and all the new additions would have been incredibly useful. Oh well, I'll keep it in mind for the future. Awesome.
 
Wow they even have my hometown which only has like 1000 people. I wonder how many pictures they have in their database total. Only Google would take an a project this huge without immediate profit.
 
A couple of months ago, they didn't even have Victoria, where I went to university. Glad to see that's covered now.

Obviously they already had the data but were waiting to roll it out just prior to the Olympics to create extra buzz.
 
Someone needs to make a Streaming version of it. Start at Point A and literally travel to Point B in Realtime. Would be fucking cool. Call it Google Holidays or Google Drive or something.

Eventually EA could make a NFS game that used the data right off of Google. Drive anywhere on Earth!
 
They even did "Street View" on the slopes at Whistler! Just in time for the Olympics!
