WoW servers down?

What a joke. I haven't been playing all night, and the moment I get the hankering to play the servers are down. =(
 
yeah, for me the lag started really acting up, then all of a sudden all the NPCs disappeared. I ran back to the town , then it booted me to the login screen and wouldn't let me back on.
 
Damnit! I just beat Halo 2 and was off for WoW. Shoulda played this first and then beat Halo 2 while it was down.

ANyone hear the things about how if you're logged on when the servers get rebooted, your char gets wiped?

I was on last night at server reboot. No problems. They announced the reboot, then my character died. I got back to my body with about 15 seconds to reboot, turned to run out of the area and then got the server disconnect. Logged back in and my character was fine right were I left him.

The game was playing fine for me tonight. No lag at all. Returned to IronForge on a Gryphon, went to smelt some copper, and the item creation never came back. Finally logged off to see if I could reset it, now I can't get back in. Test21 was the server I was on (their current message on the login screen doesn't list Test21 as having a problem right now....)
 
aye, I've been having some massive lag also. My primary server is 41, but i made a temp guy on 17 (both of which weren't listed in the bad server list). I can't get into either of them. But, as they say, they are aware of the lag issue, plus the half million signups in one day can't be helping.
 
This sucks, first I was stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours coming home, now the WoW servers are down. Apparently for what could be quite a while:

UPDATE: Looks like these issues may extend for over an hour. Patience, folks, I'll update you as I hear more.

That was a post from a Blizz person in the Blizz forums at 7:24 Pacific (over an hour and a half ago). Those forums are up and down themselves.
Might as well just go to bed.
 
Way to go Bliz boys. Bork the servers on Friday night. I wonder if this is any indication of when they will do 'service" after the BETA period is up. Got all week and they decide to pull the plug on one of the heaviest gaming nights of the week. Smart group of fellas they have over there...... Servers will probably be right back up 8am Mondy morning.

Go read their forums.

This is still a BETA and they mentioned that they are stress-testing the servers, not just letting you play for free.
