I enjoy my rogue. I am lvl 24, and I can take on most things 2-3 lvls above me.
And if I am ever in a "Oh no, I accidentally pulled 5 lvl 24 raptors instead of 1" I can sprint my a$$ out of there, or vanish.
Vanish has saved my life many times.
Definately not the best for soloing, but fun to play.

I find rogue to be very easy to solo with (to 35 curently). I am able to stealth a lot of quests, for example I stealthed the entire blackfatom depths to get the fathom core (of course I died since I didn't realize that summoned an angry lvl 28 mob, my vanish was on cooldown) :p. That would have taken hours to do with any other class solo, I did it in about 15 minutes. Each class has their strengths and weaknesses, all are viable solo.

Mobile Object i believe. They played EQ...

Blizzard's term (my preferred term) is creep.

It refers to anything moving, usually the stuff you can fight.

mob has been around since the early mud days...

yes, rogue is the bomb.

here a tip of you other rogues when you hit level 30.

for hordes, pick up the quest to speak to engineer scotty in ogrimmar. then go to booty bay to talk to scotty.
he'll transport you to mr.spock in genomegan.

enter the instance. go forward, avoid mobs. jump down and take about 1000 damage stealthed.

rest, clear a mob or two, for space.

fight viscous fallout.

you'll get a nice starting blue dagger toxic revenger, if you're lucky. if not, reset the instance and try until you get it. I got it on the first try.

Hell yes. I think it's garbage that Pallys don't take damage while they are healing themselves. As a hunter, I have yet to find a way to beat these guys PvP. Even ones that are a few levels lower than myself. :(

huh? they do take damage. there is a pally talent that will 70% of the time not interrupt spells while getting hit. but that's only after 4 points in it. if it makes you mad that someone can spend 4 points in a talent to make their class not suck badly when tanking then i don't know what to say to you.

Get a shaman to purge the inv shield=gg. Umm, if youre not a shaman, well err, I guess youre dumb for not being cookie cutter :p. Shaman is def more overpowered than paladin pvp anyways, though thats probably a long argument.

As far as soloing, I'm a lvl 53 shadow spec priest, and I gotta say, I was kicking ass from 40 till 51. Then they brought in increased mob hp, and I almost stopped soloing alltogether, it was just that frustrating (not really any harder, but mana efficiency completely went to crap--was drinking every 3 mobs). Fortunately, I got new dmg spells at 52, and its been a lot better since, tho new mob hp still makes me cry. In any case, its about 6-7 mobs/drink now, and I can solo elite mobs my level easily.

I agree more or less with the order people have said though. Hunter/pally/shaman/warlock is def the way to go.

my avg dps according to cosmos is around 70-80 last time I checked.

Wait a sec.. Your average DPS for a level 45 rogue is 70-80?

My level 28 Warlock has avg DPS of 71 right now.

Your DPS does not seem right.

I'm guessing he's talking about mobs 3-4 lvls above him. As a 42 rogue, my dps is about 100 against mobs my level and 70-80 against tougher mobs. I could probably add 10-15 dps if I upgraded my equipment (using lvl 36 swords at 42), but I've been saving for my mount.

Edit: Are you taking about the average dps from your character screen, or the real damage stats from Cosmos? According to my character stats, I should be doing about 130 dps with my normal attacks, but thats far from the truth.

as a hunter you should be using your mana tap sting shot to drain him of mana, that will prevent his almighty heals

I'm talking about damage stats from Cosmos and this is after I killed a level 31 cave yeti while I was a level 28 toon. I'm using flesh piercer, a dagger that does 15.2 dps plus does 30 secs bleeding damage and I have a firestone in my offhand. Also have dots going off and sometimes casting other spells.

IS this a rogue only quest because I'd sure like to try it tonight if I can get the quest.

Perhaps a rogue can share it with me..

its not a quest. Its a way to get a good dagger easy for rogues. Mostly viable only for rogues as they can sneak and avoid the trouble of fighting all the other mobs.

It might be a rogue quest, but anyone (alliance or horde) can get in the dungeon (Gnomeregan, it's pretty close to Ironforge). Rogues or druids can sneak in and fight only the viscous fallout (lvl 30 elite mob). Any other class will probably need a group. The mob also dropps a pretty nice staff.

I was just looking over the skill list for the classes in the game. It seems to me that only the mage and shaman (and to some degree rogue) continue to get interesting new spells as they progress. The hunter and paladin seem to have gotten the shaft when it comes to developer creativity.

although rank 11 fireball is pretty cool, its the exact same thing as the rank 1 fireball i got when i was lvl 1 /sarcasm

edit: typo

Don't forget about skills that you get from talents. Most classes don't get any new skills after lvl 40, except for skills in the talent trees.

I currently play a Night Elf Druid (Level 22)

I don't think it makes for a very good soloing class...at least not at this current level. Which is unfortunate for me since there aren't many people on the server I play on. It does, however, work very well in a group for questing (When I find one that has ANY regard at all for strategy ;) ). I like that you can fill the role of a Tank/Rogue/Caster when it is needed, it makes things more interesting knowing that you don't necessarily have to stay in one position the whole time.

The best advantage they have is the Mark of the Wild buff...which is always a great addition to any group.
I just don't think they cut it by themselves too well, which as I said is kind of dissapointing. I think they still need to beef up the feral forms a bit, even after this latest patch I still don't think its worth spending points in. Which I would like to do becasue that is the main reason I went with a druid. I can deal far more damage and heal myself being a caster, and it just doesn't make using the feral forms worth it.

Oh well, I hope they are tweaked some more...or at least even out a little at a higher level.
Do any of you have a high(er) level druid? Is it worth sticking with? I don't get to play that often so I will probably stick with something exclusively. I guess since I mainly solo I can go with something else, it just takes me forever and a half to get anywhere level wise.

70-80 dps is not that great bro... my 45 rogue averages 90-120 DPS with a Phantom Blade and Black Menance and Instant 4s..
Combat Mace/Sword rogue does insane damage with a good build and equipment..
Phantom Blade is freaking insane...

I'm a 43 NE Warrior... All I can say is, if you want to be competitive in PVP, don't be a Warrior until Blizzard admits that they have a problem.

Be a Paladin. Generally thought of as the best 1-on-1, plus a free mount.

I dunno, that's what Cosmos told me what my dps was back then. But last night in Scarlet Monastery, while helping the lower level guildmates, I was doing 180-190 dps. I'm level 48 now, and the mobs are 40. I think it is kind of misleading, as I start with ambush and the mob dropped very fast.

For hordes we don't get Black Menance, I think we get Sword of Omen (Gives me sight beyond sight), which is good for Ambush and Sinister Strikes. Where did you get Phantom Blade? was it a easy drop?

Phantom blade is not a drop its created by a 300 smith
but the recepe and componants are extremely rare and expensive...
expensive
32 mithril
1 truesilver
2 invisibility potions
RARE
6 breath of winds
these sell for about 10g each as they only drop from 1 type of rare mob in 1 zone...

BUT the sword is priceless.. on hit it debuffs AC and makes stealth impossible.. the sword shoulda been called..
Rogue Death casue agasint other rogues its freaking death...

and yes your DPS will go WAY WAY up agasint mobs that are grey.. becasue your skills are able to pass right through the lower mobs armour giving a full hit...
DPS is measured on same level normal mobs to get accurate info.
