What? Sword of Omen sucks for Ambush. It is a sword. You need to use a dagger for Ambush.

no you cannot Ambush or Backstab with sword of omens...
it is only good for a combat build rogue that spams SS/Evis

black menance way better to get for both sides as daggers are much harder to come by than a good dagger...
Black Menace is an outstanding dagger that I still keep in my off hand at L46
I have come across at least 10 swords/maces that are in same league since I left SM at 35 from world drops... but 0 daggers...

70-80 dps is not that great bro... my 45 rogue averages 90-120 DPS with a Phantom Blade and Black Menance and Instant 4s..
Combat Mace/Sword rogue does insane damage with a good build and equipment..
Phantom Blade is freaking insane...

I dunno, that's what Cosmos told me what my dps was back then. But last night in Scarlet Monastery, while helping the lower level guildmates, I was doing 180-190 dps. I'm level 48 now, and the mobs are 40. I think it is kind of misleading, as I start with ambush and the mob dropped very fast.

My 40 rogue gets about 100-130 DPS average on same levels creeps...

I am about to do SM to pick me up some new pokers

lol I still have it for lvl 52 but now have to retire it as I got the lifeforce dirk.

Horde can't get black menace as far as I know, it is an Alliance quest reward only. Horde can get Silent Hunter from a quest, which is almost as good though. But yeah dagger drops suck, so do most armor drops I keep finding, all cloth/mail/plate or +int leather.

Oh well, I am slumming it with a crappy razor blade and a daring dirk at lvl 41 (I am trying to do ambush/BS build and haven't bothered to farm toxic revenger). Doing OK so far, but it is starting to get a bit tough, need to upgrade. Just trying to build up enough money for my mount right now.
