I'm curious how ole Bliz is doing. Last I heard, and its been a while since I checked, WoW had a world pop subscription of over 15 million. The most of any MMO ever at the time.

WoW is down to ~10million. Its not hard to have the most ever when, 1. most MMOs never top 500k, 2. those that did quickly cratered in subscription base.

As much as developers try there will NEVER be another MMO as successful as WOW.

I am no longer playing wow I quit about a year ago(retail cata anyway). After playing since 2005, walking till i was level 40 and paying through the nose for the riding skill, no dungeon finder, no raid finder, no real luxuries of any kind, I have to say im a little disappointed that blizzard has sunk to this level of desperation. Havent they made enough money on this thing yet, let it die out gracefully. Embarassing really.

Except possibly Titan, which I will definitely try.

Got me - son got a free mount and I got Cata for free. Haven't played since early 2010 (same char since Jan 2005.)

I'll play a bit during spring break - get all my talents lined back up, update my UI with all the latest mods - then let it lapse again - lol.

I played WoW its first 6 months. Stopped and never played it again. It wasn't a terrible game, not skill based but it's fun tooling around with people. It's best to avoid any game thats a timesink though, unless you are disabled- there are better ways to spend your life. Even games that aren't huge timesinks/designed to hook you, are better choices IMO. I like games I can hop in and out of, or at least I'm not paying monthly for the privilege of doing so if a game is a time sink.
