Wow... that just smacks of desperation.

Honestly, I'm half tempted just to try it to get that flying mount. After all the time I wasted traveling around the world when I was level 60... Damn, that must be nice.

WoW is what, nearly 7 years old now? And I've heard the last expansion wasn't received all that well. So it is no surprise to me that they're losing subs and coming up with crazy ways to entice people back and get people that haven't played yet.

I did not like Cata. As a non-hardcore player I LIKED the relatively easy and casual LK dungeons/raids.

If you think about it, the levels doesn't matter. It's not like skill is needed, just time. So people pay for the level 80 so that they don't need to spend the time to grind up. Make sense to me. If the items were tough to get items, I would find that to be a bigger issue.

yeap. the level 80+ game is diffrent anyway. you gotta relearn everything. I don't care about this at all.

Finally can get the mage I always wanted!

Been playing SWTOR here and there though, it's actually pretty fun. I haven't really MMO'd anything though, it's basically been a single player game for me so far (L24).

edit: Looks like you can get a free xfer and faction change. Some douchebag I let borrow my account transferred my priest off my server. That wouldn't be a bad idea to just bring the toon back and say hello to any old playing partners.

You should check out the new Raid Finder... the encounters are rather easy and unfulfilling... just like the casuals like 'em! :p

I'm curious how ole Bliz is doing. Last I heard, and its been a while since I checked, WoW had a world pop subscription of over 15 million. The most of any MMO ever at the time.

You haven't played lately huh? Cata is basically a faceroll fest now

lol this. it started hard but got easy fast. LFR is great for casuals. it lets them see the end game. Reg DS is easy too now with the buff.

I don't have a issue with it either. I can still turn off the buff or do herioc DS. IF i can't find a guild run i do LFR or such.

No thanks. I keep getting those same "come back for 5 or 7 days" emails too.

No desire to go back to that game at all.

I haven't played in quite a while. World of Tanks is keeping me busy, I'm a huge BattleTech fan and it's the best thing until Mechwarrior Online comes out.

Nope.
Shitty move.
Done with WOW. No plans of coming back.
Wasted too much time on that damn game, where I could have been focusing on my life instead.

Of course their forums will be full of hardcore players QQ'ing.

Reg DS is easy too now with the buff.

That's how it is for us too. We were working on Heroic Hagara last night, and ended up swapping to normal so we could continue on Friday (an aside: ugh, I hate raiding on Fridays) with Heroic Ultraxxion. The boss felt like a slightly long trash mob fight (took about 2.5 minutes to kill).

I think our main issue on Heroic Hagara is managing the ice lance properly. If you let someone get higher than... I think 4 stacks, Hagara can one shot them with her Frost Shock-like thing. We had that happen a few times to one of our healers. We also found it immensely easier with our Hunter so we would have Aspect of the Pack during the frost phase. With all the target switching, I prefer doing the fight as Combat on my Rogue, but I'm simply too slow without the +15% speed boost from Assassination. So having Pack made it so I could easily do the fight as Combat and not have to worry about lacking a 5x stack of Deadly Poison on the frost pillars.

Whenever we would get Hagara to about 40% or so, one of the things that tended to kill us was the fact that 2 out of 3 of our healers were chosen for the ice block. Given there are only 2 ice blocks that go out at each interval (on 10-man), that's extremely bad luck. I mean, there's a 1.3% chance that two healers will be targeted (1/9 * 1/8 -- out of 9 because the tank cannot be frozen), and we had it happen at least twice. Even the cooldowns, full-on heavy heal spam and the tank healing himself (Paladin) couldn't keep the tank up through Hagara's Assault mechanic (super fast attacks for ~5 seconds).

Oh well... maybe we'll kill Heroic Ultraxxion again on Friday. I was just glad that I finally got my shoulders off Morchok on Tuesday! Now he just needs to give me my ranged weapon and someone needs to drop that physical DPS trinket (the vial).
