WoW Patch 3.3 messed up the game for anyone else?

My girlfriend play WoW and she's having a problem. Since they updated to 3.3 it won't load the game. Clicked on the launcher only for it to disappear within a second later, not even enough time for you to move your mouse to click on "Play"

We've tried every stupid "suggestion" on the blizzard forum including:

Update Framework 3.5
Update C+++
Disabling Advance texting services
Make sure the entire folder isn't "write only"
Deleting the launcher & then hit repair

OMFG it's frustrating me to hell. Don't they test out these patches before fucking everyone else on the internet?

Try run as administrator? Usual problem with win7 or Vista and WoW.

theres nothing wrong with the patch, it worked firn for 99% of the people out there, there are many guilds who have already cleared the available 25 man raid content. However patches sometimes screw peoples installs, it truly is random and if nothing fixes it the only thing you can do is reinstall it

One thing that makes WoW a joke now, release a new patch and 25 man raid instances get cleared in one day. I missed hard raiding but Blizzard decided to cater to people who would not put in some effort and learn to play the game right.

You may have not gotten the patch to download right. I had issues with that once and had to go to a third party site and download the patch as a stand alone.

I haven't had any problems at all with the patch. I did have to turn off a couple of the new features like loot at cursor and the camera auto shift because of the annoyance, but surprisingly the patch got rid of much of my old interface lag...They obviously did some interface work...everything looks a bit sharper. Gotta love the new LFG.

What resolution is your desktop set at? I have never played the game, but the sims 3 would do the same thing to my friend untill I changed the desktop resolution to at lease 1280 x 1024.

So you updated ok?

When you reinstalled, did you redownload the patch or did you reuse the old download?

It may also be the launcher not properly working or loading the game. Try running it without the launcher.

Updated all drivers for installed hardware?

Disable antivirus while updating, and any other process on the computer that isn't a base windows process.

When all else fails...reformat. When wow was released I couldn't start the game without getting an error. I tried every suggestion and hint that existed to make it work. Nothing did. I might have found something, but I didn't wanna waste anymore time and a format was the quickest way to avoid having to go through an almost infinite amount of computer/windows settings.

Don't bitch at blizzard for this, it isn't their fault. Your computer configuration is 100% unique. It has a different combination of hardware and software than any other computer the game is installed on. If however they give you the end around and don't try to help you at all, then bitch all you want. Now that you understand that, vent your frustration all you want, we've all been there from time to time. It sucks.

So glad there isn't any type of thread around already to discuss this.

As far as a fresh install, it's not nearly that bad now since the wrath disc includes the entire game up to patch 3.0a.

Your ignorance is so amazing, I am nearly speechless. I quit playing WoW 4 to 5 months ago.

I am trying to see where the relevence of your post, if any, has anything to do with this thread.

To the OP, try downloading the patch from a reliable place like fileplanet and see if that helps.

Go. Outside. Nerd.

Knowing the basic mechanics of the game != nerd

80% of WoW players don't even know how to stay out of a instakill void zone..."Hey, the black circle killed you for the millionth time, you DO realize that by now right?" *Dies to void zone*

And don't even give me that "I'm a bloody noob but I pay the same $15 per month, so I must have the same stuff as the skilled" excuses... Since I pay the same fees as the top student in my college, I'm entitled to have the same grades as him/her, amirite?

I quit the game long ago, but the sheer idiocy of most players in the game still exists fresh in my mind.

it wasent the entire instance it was the first 4 bosses because only 1 wing is currently available, in the normal mode

the heroic mode isnt out yet and it wont be a "joke"

hell based off the ptr the rest of the easy modes wont be pushovers

I haven't played WoW in a while. I doubt it will be that hard for some guilds though. I appreciated harder raiding while playing WoW, it made it a ton of fun.

You shall see how hard it truly is when it is released. I never trusted the PTR for strength of fights, they always do some minor tweaks to them it seems.

Hopefully they will make all the hard modes actually hard and not glitch this time around for WoW.

Really? I just reinstalled the game using all three discs: Vanilla, BC, and WOTLK.

Wow, that would've been a lot easier if I knew that. Heh

Ok we figured it out, anyone who have norton antivirus will screw your WoW with 3.3 patch up. We uninstalled Norton and the game work just fine. WTF

Way to go Blizzard.
