HI,

What does the AXIA code mean? And why doesn't it appear on 1Ghz CPU's normally?

I'm having a hard time getting a C chip in town, but the B's are available. Should I hold out for the C, or just go for the B? I'm looking for a 1Ghz chip, which I hope to overclock to at least 1.2Ghz (and now I have hope of going even farther with these results!).

Thanks.

to tell you the of what i know;) the AXIA code seemed to reach 1.5ghz some at default voltage and even lower voltage:Q.

Thats a sweet overclock. I have gotten my week 5 1ghz up to 1330 but haven't tried for any higher because I was worried about temperatures. What kind of temps are you getting on those?

Thanks for the reference to the article on the AXIA code.

Unless you have an overclocking friendly store, it's likely pretty difficult to sort through their collection of chips (all the stores around here keep them in a backroom/safe) though. And trying to explain to them why you want a particular code for doing a 50% overclock wouldn't go over well. You may immediately eliminate your warranty.

Personally, I like to keep a warranty on the chip for the first bit so that I know I at least got a working CPU. If I blow it up afterwards, then that's my fault and I won't be making a warranty claim. I did this last summer when I chipped the core. Had to go out and buy a new CPU.

No recommendation of a B vs a C chip?

This is in reference to my difficulty in locating a C chip and the ease in which I can get a B chip. See above.

Thanks.

Nice Overclock Compuwiz1.
By the way, Thanks for that chip. I have it running at 1500mhz, 10X150.
It can run every program that I have tried except Prime95.

hmm.. didn't pass Prime 95 torture test?

I REQUIRE all my oc chip to pass a 24 hours torture test on prime 95.. but of course.. I'm still in the Intel camp, I wanna move to AMD like really soon..

Any idea where can I trade my CUSL2 and my 700e@1001 for a A7V133/Tbird combo?

He pushed it a little farther. ;)

Good to hear Chet! Thanks. :)

Frankly, I have been having even some default clocked cpus get errors in Prime95. Think about it, it's Prime95, old proggie. CPU Stability test will kill a PIII that will otherwise pass prime 95.

I do not think it is written for Athons.

Anyone else concur?

Now, on a side note, I got another tray of 1GHz Tbirds. I was concerned, since I did not get the AXIA code this time, that these may not go very far.

These are a newer code yet, which I have not seen. AVIA

So far the first one of those booted up at 1.5GHz. I started CPU Stability Test and it BSOD'd, but may move it from the Abit board to the IWill, since I seem to consistently lose 30-50MHz on the Abit.

So, be on the lookout for week 9 AVIA code too. :)

Compuwiz, I noticed that in your other thread you say that the IWill KK266 is better than the kt7a(I have the Raid and non-Raid). Could you go into detail about your thoughts why its better? Did you have to do any mods to this mobo? I am unfamiliar with this mobo cause I thought that the kt7a was the best.
Thanks man. :)

CKY, I am starting to believe that maybe the Raid controllers are sensitive to any out of spec fsb, but that should not make a difference on the KT7a I am using, since I am only running it, non raid, with one drive. WW bios, btw.
I just feel the Abit give inconsistent results, as well. I have a Tbird out there that supposedly would not run at 1.45GHz, as I tested it on my IWill board. I tested another one for the fella, this time on my KT7a, and he still cannot get to more than 1410 on his system. :(

I have not modded anything. My IWill is a stock rev 1.1, non raid board, running as it came out of the box. Heck, I've not even updated the bios on it.

Oh yeah, steve rated my chip at 1480mhz. I was glad to have it go further.
And yes, I concur. At 1500mhz, it will run 'CPU Stability Test' all day,
but not Prime95.
I was wondering about those tests. I thought 'CPU Stability Test' just
didn't push my processor as hard as Prime95, but maybe Prime95 needs to
be coded for Athlons over 1ghz. as you can only set it up to 1ghz.

By the way Steve, I would like to get one Chips your talking about. I will E-mail you. :)

I remember when I could count the solitaire cards on the win screen at one time. At 1.2G I just see it flash the cards up there. I guess it's not a good benchmark anymore, sorta like quake2 demo:)
