why do people care so much? you should be happy for yourselves and not pissed about someone else's failures, unless of course there is some deep seeded reason to hate or be jealous or w/e. or maybe you guys just hate yourselves and want someone else to hate on. man I love the stupid making fun of the stupid

I grew up with him since I was 4. He's like a brother.

And you don't talk to him about his situation/life? How he needs to grow the fuck-up?

I give him shit all the time. He says he knows he needs a job but nobody will hire him for the work he wants to do. Finally walmart hires him, and he quits.

wow, this sums up one of my good friends. minus the drunk driving arrests.

he turns 30 this month.
he doesn't play WoW
he lives w. his mom.
he hasn't had a girlfriend since high school & he's a virgin.
he failed out of two colleges. He's currently in another college in another state, trying to remove the F's
he's a pothead.
another of our friends put his neck out and got a good job as a juice delivery man, which he held for about 3 weeks, he either quit or got canned. not sure i got the whole story out of this...
did & does a little freelance web design on the side.

he's most definitely depressed.

i often wonder if he's gay.

and if you try the 'tough love' approach he gets super defensive and won't speak with you.

Dude, why are you posting shit about me on the net? Some kind of friend you are. And just to let you know I was employee of the month at McDonalds when I was working there. Twice!

Does his name happen to be Paris?

Say what you will about Paris Hilton's personality, but she's earned quite a bit of money for herself from her modeling and acting pursuits.

HAHAHA ... not at all what I had intended ... I had a guy friend, named Paris, who fits the bill 😛

His parents need to kick him out of the house. Tough love, ftw

Your parents haven't done that to you yet.

That hurts my feeling deeply

I think your problem is that you have only one feeling. Perhaps that's why you would get out first.

Wow, and I make $8.30 after working a year and a half at my job...

Tell him to grow the fuck up. I don't know what he expected working at wal-mart, but I am pretty damn sure you wouldn't expect to be working with college grads and such.

Minimum wage is $8.40 in Oregon. You should move here for a raise!

My parents are divorced. Both remarried, but I grew up with my mom and step-dad. My mom is/was a receptionist at a local nursing facility and my step-dad is a machinist. They've been really good to me actually, but they showed alot more tough love. They didn't just hand me money all the time, and as soon as I could get a workers permit, they helped me get a job.

Loser?

You got it all wrong. He's a victim! The poor soul has been wronged by someone somehow. Therefore, since he can never reach his full potential, those who are successful should be forced to fund his well being. Problem solved.

ever wish you had it a little easier like your friend?

Do I wish I had no job, no will, no place of my own, no car, no life, no woman, no money?? It doesn't sound easy to me.

you are who you hang out with

I don't hang out with him much anymore. I live in a different city, and he can't afford to even come out here. I never go to his house anymore since I don't like hanging out in the same bedroom we kicked it in when we were 8.

you didn't get the memo? Your supposed to cut ties with your old loser friends when you become an adult. Who cares what this fool is doing with his life. I dropped a half dozen or so losers who i was friends with in high school. Last I checked most of them are drug addicts still living home and I've let go so I couldn't care less.

not judging, but why'd you cut ties? I did with a few friends since I didn't feel like having a random run in with the law cause of em and having my career jeopardized.

I have a friend that I grew up with. He lived right down the street. My parents never had any money, and his parents spoiled him. I've almost always had a job since I was 15. He had a couple petty jobs when he was a teenager, but never lasted long. He did manage to get two associate degrees, but he has never done anything with them and has been out of school for several years.

Fast forward to today. He is 29, almost 30. Still lives at home, has never moved out, and sleeps in teh same bed as he did as a baby. Same bedroom, etc. He hasn't had a job since he was in his early twenties, and that job lasted about a week. He's done some freelance webdesign here and there, but it's been for like $20 here, $50 there. He's probably made a total of $500 over the years doing webdesign. He literally helps his parents out around the house for an allowance of about $30 per week.

He's had two cars totalled from driving drunk. His parent's bought him a new one each time, except the last. They said they wouldn't buy him a car until he got a job.

He recently finally got an interview at WALMART, got hired, went through training, etc. His job would stocking shelves on the latenight shift. I get to work at 8am, and saw he was online via aol im. (I have jivetalk on my blackberry) and ask him how was work. He says it was boring and alot of work.

Last night, I IM him again and ask him if he is looking forward to his next shift and he says:

I quit. I just couldn't handle the late hours. I'm not used to it. Plus the job was boring, only paid $9.50 an hour, was alot of work, I had to carry alot of stuff around, and I worked with a bunch of losers. I can't stand to be around a bunch of high school drop outs and retards. Job just wasn't for me.

--------------

He literally worked one shift. WTF? He said his parents are livid but he apparently told them he just couldn't handle the job and wasn't going to subject himself to such stress.

So why didn't he fit in again?
