Wow. My friend actually got married after 90 days...

So let me expand upon your question:

Couple 1 = gets married 90 days after meeting.
Couple 2 = gets married after 3 years of dating.

With everything else being equal, this scenario applies to both:

During their 3rd wedding anniversary, the couple goes on an exotic adventure where upon they decide to rent two horses for an entire day. They explore this exotic place on horseback tasting every local cuisine and drinks. At the end of day, both get hammered silly by the strong local concoction. As a result, the wife's inner fantasy unleashes and she "mistakes" the horse for her husband. After the trip, the husband files for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

With all things being equal, does it really make it more surprising whether this happened to Couple 1 or 2?

Frankly, I'd be more surprise to find out if the wife got the whole horse to fit in her.

I still would be less surprised that this happened with the 90-day couple.

One of my brother-in-laws knew he wanted to marry his wife on their first date. Asked her at the end of it and they got married 3 months later. They've been together 16 years now. Had a friend who's brother met his wife in a cab on the way back from the airport. They got married a week later and have been together almost 20 years. I guess it just depends on the people.

A coworker/friend of mine did something similar. Went up to Montreal with family to visit friends, he met the daughter and after 3 weekends of driving up to visit her, go engaged and they got married several months later. I thought he was crazy especially when he had gotten out of a long relationship not that long ago. He said he knew after their first date. They've been married for almost 15 years with 3 kids.

I knew I was going to marry my wife after about a month of dating. For once in my life I was smart and mature about something and waited, and I am glad I did.

She was obsessed with me for a really long time. We last talked December 7th, 2010 on the phone, and she kept asking me when I was going to visit. Nothing would have ever worked out between us, but we had been friends for about 7 years, and she referred to me as her "best friend".

In any event, December 15th, she sends me a text that she had met the love of her life and was ENGAGED (note: no mention of this on our December 7th phone call, and I know for a fact she hadn't met him before the 7th). I didn't think they'd go through with it, but she stopped talking to almost everyone I know (me, our mutual friend, etc.) and January 1st, she set a wedding date of April 1st, and they went through with it... just got back from her honey moon.

Sorry, that to me is wayyy too soon.

Six months later: Are they still together? Update?
