Doubt it. For various reasons they are not very reliable, and they are big battery drains. The only other recent HD innovation (after the small laptop HD's that apple, Rio, and iRiver use) are the 1GB hard drives found in the Creative Muvo X2 and the Rio Nitrus. So sure that solves the 1GB option. What about 2GB? 3GB?

? its those new 1.5gb stripped down tiny harddrives found in other players already. i'm sure by the time the micro ipods come out 2-4gb versions will exist. i'm sure he's working closely with the manufacturer.

That's possible. Though I am not sure. Seems awfully fast that they doubled and quadrupled their capacity.

Yup. I can't justify getting a real HD player because unless I want to get a Zen and throw an 80 gig hard drive in it I am not going to be able to hold my entire library.

I'd pay $100 for a 2gig, easy. Hopefully the 4gig isn't $200 since the 10gig is $299.

AM/FM tuner would be interesting as well.

I'm waiting till the official announcement because I was going to go and give up a kidney to get a 40gig ipod. I just might wait and get one of the smaller ones now.

it might just be that tho, because they can say it's smaller, costs more.. etc.... but either way.. i'd prolly sell my ipod and get a mini just to have a smaller player. heh

Hmm I hope this means the prices of midrange ipods will go down. I'd love to get a 10gb one for ~$200 at some point.

Man, I've been waiting for something like this...despite having a fairly large collection (~60 gigs), I don't need to carry 20 gigs of it around with me at all times...space/design/size matter most to me in a portable, and I love the iPod look...

sweet. :D

if 60 gigs is fairly large, what is large? isn't 60 gigs like 20,000 some songs. Thats like 1,300 CDs. Itunes must love you spending a dollar a song for 20,000 songs from them. No pirated music there, thats for sure.
