Wow! I am pleasantly suprised... Mc D's Asian Salad is GOOD!

L

Lola

I had a few bucks for lunch so i decided to try the Mc Donalds Asian Chicken Salad with orange glazed grilled chicken.

It is very tasty with the right amount of spices on the chicken, there is a little kick to the low-fat ginger dressing.
The veggies are crisp and the mandrin orange slices add a nice bit of sweetness!

Just thought some folks might like to know!

this new salad is

290 calories, and 10gs of fat. Sorry I'll stick to making my own garden fresh salads.

Don't mean to be another fat food basher or thread crapper, but I just hope that people are informed, some people actually think fast food chain salads can be healthy.

This sounds like Wendy's Mandarin Orange Chicken salad, which is also very tasty.

Oh god forbid I have 10%-15% of my daily fat & caloric intake in a salad! And that's for a 12+ oz serving. The only way you can do much better is by have *just* field greens and veggies. Add any egg, nuts, fruit, or cheese to it and you are right there with them.

It's no more or less healthy than anything similar you could make at home.

I personally hate Wendy's salads because for some reason, to me, they taste "fake" but this was good.

PS... i am not saying it is healthy... just a tasty alternative to a burger there.

The chicken is very greasy.. you can get it w/o the chicken.. or like me, wash the grease off the chicken and grill to heat it back up..

its spicy and good.. :)

Wrong. Lets just start with their chicken, prepared so its skinless and the fat trimmed off? No.

Thats if you use everything on it..

I would get rid of the misc other stuff.. just have plain salad and a bit dressing.

The 10g of fat, 6 is from almond, i hate almonds

2g from the chicken... their chicken is a little scary, really high in sodium and high cholesterol also.

1.5g fat from "asian blend" what the heck is that..

Exactly, so many people think as Vi Edit said, only 10% of my daily fat. Sure, but there are so many other healthier ways to get your DV's.

So the dressing is low fat, it's healthy? I can't believe this lie is still perpetuated by advertising. I looked up the ginger dressing, and it's basically sugar water with soy sauce. That's not healthy at all. It will digest instantly, leaving you hungry. If you eat these sorts of things all day, it will turn the human body into a fat factory for the typical American.

Know whats bad at wendy's ? that new spinach chicken salad..
thats pretty much the worse salad they got, 1330 mg sodium, 235mg cholesterol, 450 calories. its the bacon bits, eggs thats killing you

the mandarian chicken salad is actually pretty decent..

low cholesterol 60 vs 235, lower sodium 480 vs 1330. Its got a higher fat, 26 vs 12, but the fat is from almond (11g) so if you omit the almond, its not bad. Use less dressing also..
