Old cars look to me like antique shops smell. It's an inexplicable uneasyness that I just can't shake.

The front end is surprisingly good. From the windshield back though it's ugly...

Well that's because the front end is ALL vette, from there back, it's ALL NOMAD.

Maybe you have never seen a 55-57 NOMAD in person?

I would give my left nut, and half my right arm for a 57 NOMAD

Half of your arm huh? I'm guessing all those old cars are slushies.

Wow, that looks so strange, but not too strange. No car company today would consider building a station wagon off of their sports car chasis. (Well, Saturn's wagon is built off the same chassis as the SC... and strangely, Porsche's new Cayenne will have that distinctive Porsche front end....)

BTW: My Dad was in town several months back, and we got to talking about the old days.

It turns out back in the day, we had a 55 Nomad (one of the rarest ones made)

ARGHHHHH if anyone here ever develops a TIME MACHINE, be sure to let me know ok!!!!! :(

You know that aqua green-blue color they used to paint cars in? That gives me an uneasyness.

Yeah, but when you pop the hood, they're surprisingly easy to figure out.

- Plugs, plug wires, distributor (with points and rotor inside.)
- Plus, working on the engines is a dream - compard to vehicles today.

However, the older vehicles did require a lot more maintenance. The plugs and points would need to be changed out every 12,000 miles. The carburator would need frequent sprays of carb fluid to keep the choke from sticking. At least many of the new cars today can go 100,000 miles between plug changes and some other maintenance.

I guess I like to look at the old cars, but wouldn't really care to own one.
