congrats! a lot of my friends, including does that are currently working for google, ms and intel or looking to jump ship to facebook.
some say goog is already too big and facebook is still fairly small and has huge potential. either way, I'm sure you'll do fine 🙂
No.
1) They don't pay enough.
2) Too many Type A personalities in one concentrated place. I need some diversity.
3) At my job I am a big fish in a small pond, at Google I would be employee #32121.
4) They pretty much peaked in terms of new ideas. Some stuff is cool like Android and Chrome but those teams are hyper-competitive to get on. Unless you're one of the top 100 algorithm guys in the country you'll writing some shitty clone of a Facebook or Twitter feature. Not worth dealing with #1 - 3 for a job like that.
Honestly, this is possible. Look at myspace. These kinds of things can come and go very quickly. I think myspace is still big but I frankly don't know anybody on it and facebook is all anybody talks about, personally and in the media. But its quick rise could be supplanted by another. In two years working for Facebook will be like working for AOL when it peaked.
Facebook has managed to keep itself relevant for quite a long time. Pretty surprising when you look at previous social networking sites.Honestly, this is possible. Look at myspace. I'd work for google although there is an attraction in being in smaller companies being a greater chance of working in multiple capacities, although not to the same concentrated point as if you're doing one role.

Yes if you actually work for their design/engineering departments.
No for IT/operation/datacenter bullshit, network operations are always treated as 2nd class citizens at software firms and employees are most likely expected to carry a pager and rotate on weekends.
