You dissect things to a degree that is unhealthy

🙁

Alright, I'll say yes, I'd want to watch.

But I might realize that watching would do nothing to heal my pain. So maybe I'd change my mind.

No matter how badly you want to see that person suffer as much as your family had, what they teach you in school still applies: Two wrongs dont make a right.

Killing is killing period. The death penalty is just a legal way of doing it.

Plus, life in prison would be worse IMO. To have to live with the guilt and knowledge of what that person did would be punishment enough for me.
You are giving people in general too much credit and assuming they have the same capacity for those emotions. Murderers dont usually grasp the concept of guilt, compassion, etc.

So says the person asking a hypothetical question. 😉

I would probably want to be there.

I think we're assuming that they've been caught, tried, convicted, sentenced to death, and all appeals/stays have failed.

Which is a sad waste of money, since in the situation I'd likely prefer to catch them myself and introduce them to a friend of mine who's very close to my heart ... a little down and to the left, to be specific.

you mine as well make the poll "do you believe in the death penalty" because thats what the "yes" and "no" votes actually mean.

I would pay for tickets!
I'd also laugh out loud at the execution.
I'd also bootleg record it.

I'd distribute the video free of charge on the net.

Well normal human beings have those feelings. While they may have less of those emotions, I'm sure with time anyone would feel it. Come on. We see YAGT threads and guys going sniff sniff on ATOT all day long. We're nerds for goodness sakes. We have fewer emotions than the rest of the world, yet we still have our girl drama, etc and we get sad, depressed etc. We get these after a few days... I think locking up someone for life and they'll probably get that feeling in a few days if not years.... Come on. 20 years in prison and you still feel you were justified with murder? You gotta be some major psycho..

Nah ... There are probably a lot of people who support the death penalty and would prefer not to see the act of the execution.

It's one thing to acknowledge and understand the value of the death penalty, it's another to actually want to see it up close and personal taking place.

It isnt that the guilty person would feel justified with committing murder, it justs that on the norm I think murders (not all) are predispostioned to not know how to feel certain emotions.

Hell, I have met people on the street and in daily life that just dont seem to be able to grasp certain "feeling" emotions.

On another note, prison for some of the dregs of society is a better life than what they had in the real world.

Not to mention that a clip of 9mm hollowpoint is a lot cheaper than footing twenty years of keeping scum off the street.

now this is what im talking about.

Give me the bullets andf the gun, and I want to watch them beg for their life as I do the following things in front of them:

1)Put the bullets in the clip
2)Insert the clip into the gun
3)Rack the slide
4)Hold the slide open so they can see the bullet in the chamber
5)Press the muzzle of the gun to their forehead
6)Place my finger on the trigger
7)Pull the trigger.

Finally, someone that feels like me.

Although, I lean towards the fact that the murderer should be killed in the exact same manner that they murdered.

No, no, that's for the quick vigilante justice solution, when you don't have time to properly torture them over a period of three weeks, giving them blood transfusions to keep them alive, while you break every bone in their body, beat them within an inch of their life, then let them recover and do it again. And finally before they feel the sweet embrace of death, they get to answer that burning question of - what exactly does their left ball taste like.
