It's really moot, since there's no way in hell he'll actually serve past 2008. It would be like saying, "hey dude, if you ever transform into a vampire I'm going to drive a stake through your heart." It can't happen, so it's a not a threat of murder. It's a venting...a reaffirmation of the seriousness of opposition. If every person who ever said 'I'd kill you' had committed a crime I'd say around 70-80% of the population would be in prison right now.

And anyway, assassination would never happen. At the first sign of any actions to keep him in power there would be enough public outcry to stop it. Or, if somehow it happened, there would be enough popular support to stage some form of revolution...peaceful or otherwise. At that point assassination would become counter-productive. Execution after trial for treason might not be out of the question for him however. As long as he died, I really wouldn't care it came about.

As long as you admit that by 'most americans' you mean just slightly more than half. I realize that does fit the definition, I merely point out that 'most Americans' isn't the same as 2/3 or 3/4 or whatever other amount people envision when thinking of the term 'most'.

Furthermore, while turnout was higher than usual, you have to also account for those not voting in the election. While they COULD have voted Bush if they'd voted, they might also have voted Kerry or otherwise. So, it would be more accurate to say: "Of the Americans who voted in 2004, slightly more than half favored GWB over the other options available at the time." That would be a much less slanted (and more accurate) statement than yours.

I don't venture much in here, but you are in the minority.

The majority of the US want's Bush. This is what we want. We are tired of wusses being our elected officials.

There is a reason it's a funny parody, humor works best when there is an element of truth behind it. Whatever else you say about Bush, he is certainly one of the most polarizing presidents ever. The people that don't like him REALLY don't like him, but the people who like him seem to have their heads jammed all the way up his ass. I admit that there are a few people who claim that their support of Bush is just because he's better than the alternative, but I think that's just cover. So an ideal Republican is better than the existing liberals? I would tend to agree, but I think the current crop of Democrats make better "ideal Republicans" than the current crop of Republicans do. Just look at the classical conservatives, libertarians. Libertarians that DON'T vote Libertarian used to vote mostly Republican...this past election, there was a pretty large movement of Libertarians towards the Democrats. This doesn't make a lot of sense on the surface, as Libertarians (despite the similar names) are about as un-liberal as you can get. And yet, if you are a fan of small government and personal freedoms, I hardly see how you could keep voting Republican. How sad is it when the Democrats are the party of limited government and civil liberties...relativly speaking of course?

He is always keeping an eye out for the poor american and children by cutting funding for those services! With a person like him that only cares about the rich, how could I say no?
