Would you rather work 5 4-hour shifts, or 4 5-hours shifts?

No man ever laying on his death bed ever said.......... I wish I had worked more!!

That being said. at 12 years old I had a paper route. Worked my uncles dairy farm every summer up at 5am bed by 10pm. at 15 I worked at Woolworths for $4.00 a hour.. Im 45 years old and have always worked from auto Mechanic to Maint mechanic on PMC cup machines.. I now manage several crews that print crap for fast food places.. This printing press would scare most people as it can run a car sized roll of paper in 10 minutes. It runs at 1200 FPM printing like mad..

That being said I put in at least 65 hours per week over 20 years. I have watched my kids grow without me being there.. Missed birthdays, Friends, family.. To the guy that posted this thread..... Figure out a way to live your life without working your ass off. I own a house that is over 2700 square feet. Custom Jandy controled pool. Lots of toys too... Last weekend I woke at 4am went in for 3 hours came home and mowed the lawn then went back in to finish some work... One of my best friends is a nurse.. Over a month time he works about 15 days at 12 hours a day. I make more but he has a much better life.. Just my 2 cents..

I dammed sure can't argue your logic. Over my 30 or so years in construction, I've been away from home for months on end, I've worked every major holiday at least once, missed kids b-days, anniversaries, etc.

For most of my career, I lived to work.

Fuck that, I'd rather work to live.

I would pretty much always vote for fewer days working. I used to work 4 10hour days. I usually wasn't able to get them all in a row but working Mon and Tues, having Wed off and going back in for Thurs Fri was great! No matter how bad/busy the day was it was, at most, just one more day till a day off.

It took me a while to get used to 5 days in a row working. I still miss my 4 10hour days 🙁
