I am rather "thin" (135/5'9") but AM (rather) strong for my size.
My choice. I think extreme "muscle boys" look silly.![]()
Pushups are a great indicator of muscular endurance and strength vs. size, but a poor indicator of raw strength. I could double my bench press and probably increase my pushups by less than 50%. And then arm wrestling is partly strength but also _hugely_ technique and reach.i knew guys with more muscle than me who couldn't do half the pushups, couldn't beat me in an arm wrestle, etc..
I'd rather be overestimated; less likely to get hasseled by people that wayOriginally posted by: Feldenak
I'd rather be underestimated. I already have a fiance, I don't need any more girls.

I'm not sure I understand all you people wanting to be strong but look weak to be tricky. How often do you get into fights?
Would you rather look real strong/buff and be weak OR look rather weak and scrawny but be real strong?

it's pretty difficult to be scrawny and strong since strength is directly related to muscle size.
they're sort of loosely correlated. a lot of body builders are much less
strong than you'd think.
i've met men at powerlifting contests who weighed less than 150 lbs
and weren't particularly hypertrophied, but bench pressed 450.

Sure it does unless you are completely musclebound . . . 5'6" is pretty short - you cant compare since you are 4-1/2" taller . . .Originally posted by: alkemyst
5'6" and 160lbs doesn't make you chubby necessarily.
He is more than likely built like a tank....unless of course you think because you aren't no one else can be.
When I was 190lbs people said I must be fat too until they saw me (5'10.5")...I like to stay around 175-180 though with a little bodyfat on me still, at the 190lb mark with a little bodyfat I'd have been more like 210lbs probably and still not chubby.
