Would you rather download Vista or get the pressed CD?

No thanks. CD for me. Actually I don't plan on going Vista until 2010 when all the bugs are worked out. 🙂

From a quick view of the poll results, it seems CD is still the way to go. I wonder if how they deal with the problem when people have to wipe clean and reinstall. They let you download an iso image maybe?

that isn't pirate talk, several dept and groups here at work have to test it, so the TAP person got everybody DVD's of it for us to start testing with

*chuckle*

Same here; everything you said. No substitute for a real CD that doesn't somehow "know" it was downloaded x-months ago and now has a different timecode or whatever.

And 2010 IS when Vista will be viable. XP was unacceptable until SP1 and wasn't rock-stable until SP2.

I'm on SP2 and have zero problems. I like it that way.

Everyone in the office has MSDN so we just use an ISO server and a couple of burned copies. RIS is giving me some fits right now.

You didn't say your TAP person. You said your MSDN person. Vast difference.

I like the feeling of going in to a retail store (if priced low enough) and walking out with something.. Not that digital delivery isn't cool and all, but I'll check sams club on the 30th and see how their ultimate price shakes out.

Congrats, you now have a pirated copy of Vista that you can't activate.
