our MSDN dude downloaded enterprise and passed out burned discs to us last month

watch that pirate talk

?
that isn't pirate talk, several dept and groups here at work have to test it, so the TAP person got everybody DVD's of it for us to start testing with

what does that have to do with pirateS?

You didn't say your TAP person. You said your MSDN person. Vast difference.

What does TAP stand for? Is that the MSDN Administrator who is authorized to give out software and keys for eligible end-users (i.e.: CS students)?

TAP = Technical Adoption Program. Basically, TAP participants are beta testers, but they have certain obligations to Microsoft (allow MS to use their name in product literature, file bugs, etc). I can pretty much guarantee that every TAP contract has a provision about distributing the software used during the program, and how it can be licensed.

Regardless of whether this is TAP or MSDN, neither is to be used for personal use.

I always get the disk - it usually works better and is much more corruption-proof.
