Just wait around for some good deals.

Absolutely.

I'd be all over the MX Revolution if it had changeable batteries + 2000 dpi.

Unfortunately I have a bad habit of forgetting to charge wireless mice so I really can't use a mouse with integrated battery. I ditched my MX1000 (new warranty replacement) and bought a G5, haven't looked back.

I would like to see a corded MX Revolution w/2000 DPI, that would be great.

The G7 has two removeable battery packs, they can usually last 1-3 days each and charge pretty fast. (only use one pack at a time) I'll never use a wired mouse again.

I know the G7 does, which is why I find the MX Revolution a little disapopinting. IMO that was a major improvement (vs the MX1000).

I love the G5, hopefully logitech will put the new scroll wheel into something corded (and the 2000 dpi laser, boo for stepping back to 800).

the mx revolution is pretty. guess for office use and non gamers. otherwise not enough buttons for games.

How many buttons do you need? Standard two, plus scroll wheel and scroll wheel button has been plenty for every game I've played in the last few years.

Its all about the buttons and configurability for me. Right now I have 8 with the logitech 510 but would love to have 2x that amount.

Wow... how do you manage to go through mice so fast?

QFT, I've had the same 2 mice for 2 years now

If it was a silent mouse, like the Thanko Silent Mouse, but ACTUALLY COMFORTABLE TO USE, and had a silent scroll wheel like the Microsoft Mice, and was the size of my Kensington Pilotmouse (I have big hands), then sure. Otherwise, no. I find my wireless, optical $12 Kensington I spent $12 was more than adequate for FPS gaming.

Yep. The 5 button Microsoft Intellimouse Optical was 60 bucks at Costco back then. I couldn't live without one ;)

Anyway, it's still at the same computer and doing well.

The most I'd pay for a mouse would be $50. The most I'd pay for a mouse pad would be $15.

i think i paid damn near that for an MX500 when they were brand new.

i don't think 'fast scroll' wheel on the mx revolution is any better than the scroll buttons above and below the scroll wheel on the MX500/1000 etc
