Would you pay 70 bucks for a mouse?

im @ 1000Hz polling rate right now with my mx518, i also have the mx1000... but its useless to me now since this is so much better for games

I recieved a G5 for my birthday. I wouldn't have bought it myself since I already loved my $20.00 mx300.

My hands are a little above average in size, so I would pay that if it was bigger. But that one does not appear to be any bigger than what I have now.

If it had a nice new feature I'd spend that much easy. I don't see anything compelling on that MS mouse, though. My Logitech "laser" mouse seems to work on a lot more surfaces than other mice, so I consider that feature high up there. I also have like 8 assignable buttons which I consider invaluable. Having buttons for copy, paste, close tab, close window, etc. speeds up work considerably (horizontal scrolling is useless, though, so I always remap those first).

Wireless I consider a minus, though. When I travel I have to take the charger, receiver, and mouse instead of just a mouse. You also have to keep the stupid thing charged. Every wireless mouse I've had has used lots of processor time as well. All to get rid of a little wire that never bothered me anyway.

i have spent $70 on a mouse.. back in the day.. mx700 baby. ok, it was more like $100 for the wireless desktop combo.. which is still in use today (to siblings, who don't care if the keyboard is worn down. which made me realize.. i like that new keyboard feel.. so it's $20 dell no frills here.. heh).

got another one for myself tho because it was just so comfortable. I might have to take it to work actually, wireless is nice. But I have come to more senses tho.. no more than $40 for a wireless mouse for me. so gotta wait for deals. this second mx700 fell into that category.

I paid around $45-$50 for my G5. I appreciate high quality mice, but I don' t know if I would spend $70. I would wait until it comes down in price and shop around for the best deal.

It's not about the edge when gaming, like you guys have said it doesn't really matter. For me its the useful buttons and comfortable shape. I previously had an mx500 that finally broke and then I bought a G5. It is perfect except for only one side button.

How many buttons do you need? Standard two, plus scroll wheel and scroll wheel button has been plenty for every game I've played in the last few years.

I always manage to use them all... for FPS I map things like scopes, crouching, fire, alt-fire, jump, and maybe binds if I have some buttons left.

<--- G5 user; however, I didn't pay $70 for mine. Probably around $50-$60, which is still very pricey for a computer mouse. I just figured it would last fairly long and a good expensive mouse is much better than having to get pissed off with a crap one.

You can buy that mouse on Ebay for 35 shipped.

I am a huge logitech mouse fan and I typically go through 1 mouse every 3 months.

I say no. Why do you need to spend $70 on a mouse that is corded? Mx518 is perfectly good. Why would you spend any more?

WTF is that crap? That's a freaking Razer Copperhead minus the awesome symbol. Released in october? It's already out. And yes, I have a Razer Copperhead (SAME thing as that Habu except theres 2 buttons moved around), and I do like it. I only paid $43 for it though. (I love Woot)

PS: Habu Gaming Mouse AKA Rebranded Razer Copperhead

I did in 1998/1999 for the first generation intellimouse because I was tired of crap stuck in my rollers getting me killed in Quake 3. RMA'ed that twice... then spent 25$ on the MX500 and 60$ on the MX1000. I really don't feel like you can put a price on the comfort of anything you use 8+ hours a day.

I did the same, bought an IntelliMouse for $90 back in '99 or so, still use it everyday, like it better than the logitech mx series.

Even though it has flashy LEDs, it still sucks in ergonomics...which means...not worth it. If it perfectly fits my hand, then I would consider paying 50 for it...never going past 50.
