Are you happy with the Democrats solution to our healthcare system issues?

I was happy with the democrats initial proposal, which is single payer healthcare. People in this country act like a single payer system is some kind of crazy concept or wild theory, when it is demonstrated as workable in pretty much every other western country. The real challenge is overcoming all the resistance from the providers in this country who are addicted to the obscene profits they extract from the system. Conservatives of course think something is grossly un-American about single payer healthcare, which is another example of letting highly abstract concepts about what freedom is or what being American is get in the way of sound policy.

I'll take that as a 'no' and I would agree. Btw...I'm a "conservative" and would like to see a single payer solution as well. Perhaps conservatives are not as stereotypical as you seem to think them to be.

Yep, pretty much.

I see liberalism in two different groups.

Group 1 - People who have so much money they do not have to work.

Group 2 - People who receive government benefits.

If you have to work for a living, have to pay a house note, car note, pay child support,,,, chances are you are going to be a conservative.

And that close minded attitude is why most people on here don't see eye to eye with you. I know personally more liberals than conservatives. And most of the people I know are your standard middle class. Pretty much every single person I know who lives paycheck to paycheck and would be in serious financial trouble if they missed one is a conservative. Then again most of those people are also the ones without any form of higher education.

The dominant conservative party in this country would disown you for such an opinion

the liberal religious commitment to secularism most certainly requires brain biopsies to diagnose.

Definitely, we need a theocracy ASAP! If there is one thing that makes sense is the follow an antiquated book of arbitrary rules!

It is well known that IGBT would be more comfortable in a theocratic state like Saudi Arabia: "friendly" to the west, hyper--conservative god-driven state, where possession of illegal substances is punishable by death.

I think those that would disown you would be in the far right, middle right to moderate right would not even if they didn't fully agree with single payer.
And that's OK with me...most all on the extreme right are insane imo. Same applies to the extreme left for that matter.

Man, I wish this world were as simple as the one where you live.

Just out of curiosity, what policy positions would you ascribe to any sizable elements of the extreme left that you would consider insane. I think reflexively calling both parties different sides of the same coin belies the real truth at this time in history, and that is that the center of gravity of the Republican party has shifted to it's far right fringe, and dragged a sizable portion of the conservative base with it.

One might say that the Overton Window moved left on them.
