This video is a little disturbing, I can't believe so many people just turned a blind eye

wow

hats off to the people who did decide to get involved

I have three young kids, they aren't going to be walking around anywhere by themselves!

That is pretty scary

**EDIT**
They've done psychology experiments where they would simulate a rape victim or mugging and people would stand around, but once someone made a move they would take action. We are really all sheep.

I've noticed that people can be quite sensitive to race/ethnicity in these forums.

On that note, it is interesting to note that all the people who neglected to help were white (many intentionally veering out of the way of the situation), and the ones that did help were black (and latino, it appears).

Kudos to the men who did try to help the child being abudcted.

would i? yes but im amazed that so many just walked away! heh those two guys on teh phones did not look happy about it. they were planning on hurting that guy heh

mob mentality

nobody wants to be the standout, but everyone will go to the same extreme, no matter how extreme or brutal, once everyone starts doing it together. frightening how we are, but that shows our pack-hunting instincts. its in our nature to act and move in groups, thus why people dont want to attack that guy when they are alone, but you get some people moving in (the ones who are more inclined to act on their own), the rest will quickly follow.
when i have kids, if they are ever out of my sight I'd pray that my kid would know what to do and people would step in. Even though I am not a bulked up guy, I'd probably be like those two guys. Except if someone else was around me I'd try and get them to move on the person with me.

Tends to be the case that people that are more affluent tend to only think about themselves and what they have to do during the day, and less affluent people will step up and take action. It is partly culture though. 😀 Kudos to them.

Worse, they play ads before they run the actual clip.

Worst news site EVER.

The thing is, you hear kids crying and struggling with their parents all the time. That's what I would assume was going on. Some girl yelling "you're not my dad" would just make me assume it was her step dad, and she hadn't adjusted to that fact.

So yeah, in that situation, I would have strolled on by, it wasn't very conspicuous.

i thought the situation with that one woman that they interviewed was kind of ambiguous because the girl didn't say anything she was just making noise... but other than that, yea, wow.

I have two little girls and this really got to me. To think that they could be snatched and no one would really take notice. I'd probably have to get involved. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to lose either of my girls. So I wouldn't stand idly by while someone tried to take someone else's.

But wait...JLGatsby said that rich people are better than everyone else, and we should let the poor people die because they're stupid and are dragging the rest of society down. He's a supermodel, so why would he lie?😕

i'd teach my kid to say 'help, i don't know this guy' over 'you're not my dad', because yea, i'd think it was a kid not liking her step-dad. But I woulda probly been like those 2 guys and just stand there, listening, trying to figure out if the kid was a brat or it was a problem.
