Would you get a wallmart type job?

Still don't have a job right now. Haven't been looking though. I'm thinking I should get like a Wallmart stocking shelves job or something, anything, just to give some structure to my days. NOTE I don't mean necessarily wallmart just that type of job. I'm going to be signing up for BCIT here for next year (starting next september). I know a few have warned me away from it since it's a shit load of work, more than university, but it's fast and directed towards a career in IT so I'm looking seriously at that.

Part of the reason I'm thinking of something like that is that it would be a job I would be able to start relatively quickly. It's too easy right now for me to just sleep all day at home and not get anything done.

I think I would rather suck penis. The pay is better and it's less degrading. If you lack penis sucking skills, then a job at walmart is perfectly reasonable.

Yes I lack penis sucking skills. Where did you acquire yours, I must know.

If I had to, but it is definitely employment rock bottom and I'd hate myself for it. It truly does not get any worse

He was making 40k a year at 7-11 a few years ago. I dunno why he quit that lol.

No I wasn't. I had the opportunity to do so. I could have been a manager and they would have started me off at about 35k and I would have been making 40k in a few years, maybe by this point. I was making $17/hr when I quit there. They wanted me to promise I'd stay for the long haul which at the time I didn't want to do. Course hind sight is 20/20 and that may have been the thing to do.

dont automatically think they even want you. apply and see what happens. u can just turn it down if u decide u dont want it. the interview i had there was actually kind of intense.

About 2 years of university. I have other retail experience, 4 years as an assistant manager at a 7-11 and a successful year at a commission based computer retailer NCIX.

Go for the retail job, part time, get a student loan, finish university/go to college. It's no guarantee these days (believe me) but it will open doors in the future.

Why were you applying? I thought all ATOTers made 100k per month min 😉

I had to start somewhere before it was hookers and blow in my Maserati. Pretty funny that after applying to all those damn retail places looking for my first job, I got nowhere. Ended up with like two interviews and they were just a waste of time. On the other hand, the first internship I applied to I got an interview, and the second one I got a job at. Oh well, saved me from having to do a shitty job!

OH---WOW, a WALLY WORLD THREAD!!!! I L O V E IT.
I have a close friend that has worked at wally world for 5 years now.
He keeps me up to date on the wally world circus.
The latest???
He told me (new law) that all Wal-Mart workers MUST only use the rest room
during one of their breaks. They get 2 - 15 min breaks and 1 meal break.

If they want or need to use the rest room outside their assigned break period, they
MUST bring a doctor’s note stating that they have some medical issue where
they may possibly need to use the rest room at other times. Some bladder issue,
or whatever. But a doctor’s note on file is "required" to use the rest room outside of
the break period.

I told my friend to let go and piss while checking out people, then sue Wal-Mart for the humiliation suffered due to pissing in front of customers.

Wal-Mart also controls the stores heating/cooling system via remote at the Wal-Mart national headquarters. So if it’s hot as hell in the store, only national headquarters can adjust the climate control. And naturally they seldom will do that for the suffering employees sweating and working in the heat.

I think this is one reason unions came into style.....

BCIT that I'm looking at isn't a full university, it's technically a technical institute. However their 2 year programs actually have much higher employment stats than most university degrees. The programs they have are much more directed and experienced based.
