Would you ever allow yourself to only date one woman? (POLL)

Simple as that, would you under any circumstances date one woman and spend the rest of your life with her, or would it be too much of a question since you never attempted a relationship with someone else (much less copulated).

Pollified!

Just for clarification (and I'm not sure this is even a misunderstanding but seems it might be). I mean date one girl ever... as in you go on your first EVER date with girl X date her for a while then get married, and NEVER go on so much as a date with another girl.

Edit: poll clarification.

there hasn't been one girl (even one that i dated for almost a year) that I have seen myself with later in life.
the latest fling isn't really going anywhere apparently either... so yea

i feel if i found a girl and we both saw eachother as being the one, then yea, i'd stick with her unless something with bad
but i'll date and then find out she isn't the one.. thus why relationships end ;)
its hard to know if someone is 'the one' until some time into the relationship.. if i find myself with who i think is the one.. im not gonna ditch her just so i can laid by other girls when i got someone perfect...
but that situation hasn't come up with.. and i still got college ahead next year so, yea.. gotsta be free, yo! lmao
and yea, im 18.. so i shouldn't be worrying about that anyway

Of course I would...if it was the right woman.

Edit: I think I misunderstood the question, I thought you meant marry a woman, not marry the first woman you've been with. In that case, I don't know, probably.

I'd also be interested to know the demographics of the people who answered, think that would be interesting. Although completely unnecessary... ah well.

If she's the right one, why not? "Sorry, I love you and think we'd be great together, but you're the only girl I've ever dated so it couldn't happen... you know, wild oats and all."

What specific demographic information are you asking for?

Something tells me the most pertinent information would be:

Age
Location
Political views
Religion

Another extremely important demographic question.

Since I'm waiting for marriage, that would be a yes. :p

Anybody who only ever dates/marries/has sex with one women is in trouble whether they know it or not.....most of them are now divorced, or will be.

So you're saying premarital sex decreases divorce rate?

Reality proves different from what you are being taught by media and ?safe sex? education. ?Contrary to pop-culture wisdom, those who do choose to save sex for marriage are not doomed to a second-class sex life. Rather they typically report higher levels of sexual satisfaction and marital contentment. Moreover, early sexual experience has been linked to marital dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, and greater incidence of Divorce.?(Hooten)

Flawed study. I offer as alternative that those people who are willing to save it until marriage are also more prone to being able to be fulfilled by a singular relationship. The study simply shows that the type of people who would save it are more likely to have better marriages, tis correlation not causation.

Not to be exclusive, but the poll only really holds relevance for male heterosexuals.

If you would like I will start a second poll, but obviously it will not be serving to answer the question I am looking at.

Either way, it disagrees with Ronstang's statement..

This article supports my opinion:

http://www.jstor.org/view/00222445/ap02...01cce44030005039e71&dpi=3&config=jstor

And it must be noted that while Ronstang is not correct in saying those factors make you more likely to divorce, this does not make the opposite not true. Rather neither can be reasonably shown to be the effect, and thus either is possible.
