I can literally smell your oven from here! 🤢...the others will be put in my oven for a day or two when I deem appropriate where the pilot light will keep them warm enough and the enclosure will keep the ripening fumes around them long enough that they will ripen rather quickly.
My lunch today will be an organic banana and natural organic peanut butter sandwich with homemade plum preserves on homemade whole wheat bread (which is still cooling), plus 16oz milk.Try:

^^^ Does it get longer, thinner, more yellow and taste more like a banana?
Yeah, but you don't eat the peel. The inside stays edible longer in the fridge once edible.'Nannas in 'Fridges go very brown very quickly.
I have tons of experience. Fact is, what happens with bananas varies quite a bit and since I know the parameters of how I'm treating them I have concluded that the variance has a great deal to do with the state the bananas were in when they were picked. There are other possible variances, like how they were treated from pick to purchase.Unless the plan is making banana bread I wouldn't suggest chilling bananas.
Room temp or frozen.... anywhere in between causes premature "bruising".
That's not how I like mine. I prefer a banana early in its ripe phase, when it has a definite tang.Best way to keep a banana "fresh" in a way where it's not like eating banana-flavor baby food I should have said lol.
If mushy over-ripe/over-sweet bananas are "good enough", who am I to argue?![]()
I found out the HARD way that green bananas are bad. Definitely the worst odor I've emitted from my body. Had it happened in a public place, it would have caused a general panic. In an office setting, the entire room would have to be cleared. And I probably would have had to quit my job to spare myself the eternal ridicule of being the office stinkass. But apparently, it's really good for the intestinal bacteria and intestinal health. Definitely do it in a cabin in the woods. Or if you want your wife to leave youToo green?
