Would you eat a ham thats been frozen for 3+ years straight

So im wondering if its still good? Its been in our 2nd freezer for 3+ years. Would you take the risk?

what's the worst that can happen? Your colon gets a good purging? Doesn't sound too bad. Just hope you're up to date on your Readers' Digest.

It's fine. My grandmother ate a wedding cake that was frozen for 17 years. She's still alive.

I thought the general rule was 1 year on frozen meat. No way would I chance near death over a hunk of meat.

Bah, if it's truly been frozen solid, it's FINE. A true deep freezer (the kind you keep in the garage or wherever) gets a lot colder than the freezer part of the refrigerator. I've eaten steak and chicken that was in the freezer part of the fridge for 7-8 months before. Didn't taste any different than fresh meat and I didn't get ill.

Defrost that piggy and look at it. If it looks normal, eat it. If it's got a lot of freezer burn (whiteness around the edges) throw it away. I'll bet it's fine eatin'.

sure, try it.

i'm using paprika that's been in my cupboard for 10+ yrs. no ill effects
