seems like some of the people in this thread have only heard of MJ through those MJ will make you crazy fills of the 50's/60's.
I actually prefer to give it up over extended periods of time... makes the return that much more enjoyable.. to do anything in excess dulls its effects..
and studies have shown that nicotine is actually more addictive then heroin which was believed to be the modst addictive.
alcohol is just too detructive to use on any kind regular bases... but a nice home brewed amber in good to have occasionally.. that commerical crap is for the birds, and the amount one needs to consume of it will DESTROY your liver in the long run.

I consider alcohol to be much more evil than marijuana, so I would date someone that smoked pot. I have zero against pot smokers and I think the stuff should be legal.

Alcohol is a drug too man. I like stoners more than alkies. More chill, reserve, and peaceful. A irrate, irresponsive drunk compared to a f*ckhead stoner, the "druggie" will just laugh his/her head off and act stopid, the alkie will act stopid but start $hit. Of course other drugs is another issue.

The only life I've personally watched be destroyed by alcohol is my fathers, and he had enough other stuff that it was an even call without the drinking. I've had sideline seats to numerous drug destructions though, and mostly lives that otherwise had enormous potential.
It all comes down to perspective and experiences.
If you date (or marry) someone who doesn't/wouldn't/hasn't smoked weed there'll always be something you know (if you do/did smoke weed) that they don't - about the very nature of reality and humanity (or, at least, its head).
And they might "think" that they know, which'll make real conversation on the subject impossible.
You'll be in a relationship somewhat like parent/child except that it can never be revealed as being such.
You'll get lonely, eventually if not from the beginning.
BUT - that's not an unusual human situation anyway. It doesn't only happen because of the weed thing.
Oh.... would I do it? Yep, it is not necessarily a major factor at all (though, of course, it could be. imagine being, for instance, a non-smoker hooking up with an inveterate deep bong puller.... dis..gus..ting )
A casual smoker is no problem. If they buy a bag of weed before they pay the bills on payday...NO!!! I would have to consider the level of responsibility the person demonstrates on an individual basis before answering, but I'd prefer they not.
