So let me get this straight. This is a question for guys that answered 'no'. Some cool member of the opposite sex befriends you and it gets progressively serious. You're close, maybe even dating per se. Months after the fact, you're getting ready to watch Wizard of Oz in high def and she slides out to the patio only to return minutes later smelling faintly of da chronic. She looks at you with glazed eyes and says, "I only do it once in a while b/c it makes me super super horny - I hope you don't mind."

Do you ask her to leave?

Yes. Not a second thought.

my gf doesn't mind

she doesn't smoke cigs or weed but she's open minded about things

it doesn't affect the way i treat her, it doesn't run my life (well maybe sometimes it does...) and we're both happy

No, I wouldn't date someone who regularly consumes drugs.

Time for a blowup doll.

Drug consumers are not as common here as in America.
Almost none of the girls worth dating do drugs.

WTF are you talking about, I'm sure they've all drank a diet pepsi a few days in a row before.

Let alone coffee or gum.

It seems lots of members do use weed sometimes. Aren't most jobs drug free now and are now testing workers for drug use? I know lots of places when you apply for a job will do a drug test.

Weed vs Booze

316-313, advantage Mary Jane.

Marijuana is a difficult drug to prove personal usage of though, as unlike H or coke, you can get "second hand smoked" from being at a party or club.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with anybody who smokes weed... I just wouldn't date someone who did.

I would treat it much like I'd treat someone who got ass-crazy drunk every week. I'd encourage them to stop, but I think if they didn't, it would eventually bother me to the point where I'd have to break it off. I know many people who get smoked up regularly, some of them are normally very intelligent and well-spoken people, but without exception, after a bowl or two, become jabbering idiots who don't realize they've become ranting morons.

Are you sure your talking about MJ and not Alcohol? When you consume alcohol, you become stupid. You say stupid crap, and you become a jabbering idiot. Now bare in mind that this is the NORM I speak of, not the exception. With MJ, what you describe here is most definetely the exception. Most people become almost silent, and when they do speak, they may say something annoying or lose their train of thought and forget what their talking about, but thats not what you described here. Another thing that could be annoying is when you address someone after they've smoked, they may ignore you, or it takes more to get their attention off whatever their attention was on.

Out of all the people I've ever known, only a couple act like they do when their on alcohol, which is what you described, and those people only acted like that the first few times they smoked it. Perhaps you know more then a few like this? If so, your friends most definetely defy the odds. I think its more likely that these "friends" of yours are drinking and getting high, and you can't differentiate the effects. I just have a hard time believing what your saying, when this is BY FAR the exception. People respond differently though, so you should bare it in mind that these few people you know doesn't classify you as an expert.

I'm well aware of the difference between someone who is drunk and someone who is stoned. When i say I know many people who smoke up regularly, I refer to the fact that I had to interact with well over 100 smokers in the same dormitory for 2 years in college and I still associate with a good many of those people now. While the majority of them don't go running around streaking through the hallways or freak out when you say their name, in terms of speech however, there isn't a single one who doesn't lose the majority of their intelligence after a bowl or two. Sometimes, when you tell them something, you can literally SEE them struggle to understand it. Once, 2 people tapped my shoulder every 5 minutes to verify that I did, indeed, realize the floor was 2 colors. People become boisterously liberal in their laughing. 80% of them have this dopey grin the entire time they smoke.

Because of the legal ramifications attached to pot, when you have that many users in a concentrated location, it inevitably becomes a very social activity. Everyone smokes everyone else up and you pass the bowl around and everyone with a dime bag becomes your brother. Complete strangers easily 10 years your senior are rubbing elbows with the scrawny freshman from your chem class. I'd probably be a little uncomfortable having that kind of environment around me again.

Fact of the matter is, I don't really have an issue against people who smoke. I'm well aware that the person they are when they are high is not necessarily the person they are when they're not lighting up. It would be very hypocritical of me to preach down upon my friends for smoking when I used to be a fairly heavy drinker myself. The fact is, however, that marijuana usage deliberately suppresses normal brain activity to a noticeable degree. It's the same thing with cocaine, heroin, X, insomnia, overeating, alcohol, television, games, sugar, so on and so forth. They're all forms of escapism, the only difference being degrees. While there's nothing wrong with escapism as everyone has stress and everyone has issues, having the desire to get stoned on a weekly basis denotes to me that there are probably some serious issues at play. It's the same thing as if she was playing games nonstop in front of the couch, or drinking in excess, or overeating to the point of illness. At some point, I'm probably going to make an attempt to get her to stop and get back to living. If she refused to acknowledge that problem and just kept hiding from it, I'd be kind of offended.

I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as its in moderation and doesn't interfere with their lifestyle....

It would concern me. If they did it once in a while it would not be an issue, but weekly is too often IMO
