alcohol is legal, weed is not unless you live in colorado and have permission.

So let me get this straight. This is a question for guys that answered 'no'. Some cool member of the opposite sex befriends you and it gets progressively serious. You're close, maybe even dating per se. Months after the fact, you're getting ready to watch Wizard of Oz in high def and she slides out to the patio only to return minutes later smelling faintly of da chronic. She looks at you with glazed eyes and says, "I only do it once in a while b/c it makes me super super horny - I hope you don't mind."

Do you ask her to leave?

So, it's the legality that bothers some? What if they had stolen mp3s on their computer? Or tended to speed on the interstate?

In college .... yes (I did date many girls who did). Now that I'm 26...I'd probably be less likely to, although I would not rule it out. That really isn't my scene anymore and I doubt I'd really be all that interested in someone who still enjoyed smoking up and doing little else.

I'd rather get totally smashed and wake up with a hang over...j/k.

The odds of them going to jail for weed are much greater than them going to jail for the crimes you listed. The fear is that they'll be carted off and you'll be left alone, still in love with them.

Not a problem for me. My wife doesn't mind my bad habits so why should I mind hers? Of course we have a 4 month old baby right now so she hasn't smoked in over a year.

to me is not a legality thing but more of a moral thing. Then again same questions could be stated about someone that is an alcoholic that drinks everyday, i'm sure that bothers some people.

so, if you were 16, you wouldn't date another 16year old just because they went to parties and drank? Be realistic. You get caught with weed, you are not spending months in jail.

It depends on her personality. It never stopped me from dating them before. I dated a hippy for a while...she was awesome. Had great taste in music, long hair, sexy clothes, great body....she ate carrots for her late-night snacks so she was thin and had keen eyesight.

I didn't like the fact that she did other drugs that were much heavier. I guess it goes to show that pot can be a gateway drug. I remember going to see a bunch of concerts with her and will always remember the good times though.

Hopefully you didn't meet one of the future-burnouts though. They can be pretty crappy.

The odds of a casual smoker getting arrested for some bud is so unbelievably low. Many states is a misdemeanor.

If they were growing in their house or dealing, that's a different story. But someone that might pick up a bag and smokes at their house or in private is in no danger. You're far more likely to be picked up for DUI after having a few brews at the bar on Friday night. Granted, most non-smokers have no idea about this and just think it's bad cause it's drugs. It's same thing as alcohol, caffine, etc. It's just that big business wasn't threatened by the growth of tobacco like they were with hemp.

No turning this into a legalization thread, just pointing out that non-smoker generally have a very, very distorted view of what a pot smoker is.

Oh yeah, that's nice. But that being said, the last girlfriend I had, I had issues with her smoking so much. I just think that there's a point where you stop doing it because you're tol old to mess with it, and then once you retire, you do whatever you want, so you can start again. But I don't think she could have ever stopped.

I'm lazy and relaxed enough without weed, don't have any reason to try it. A girl that smoked it a lot, I'd see her as having a dependency, which could relate to a sort of weakness. Really depends on other things too, though.
