Would you date someone if they smoked cigarettes?

Male or Female, whichever is your preference. This question is mostly for people that do not smoke cigarettes but have come to find the person they like smokes at least once a week.

Would you still go out with them?

Edit: Unfortunately, this will probably be seen as a parody(and rightfully so:D), so the answers won't exactly be objective.. Maybe I'll re-make the thread in a few months or something.

I'd be interested to see if so many show the same astounding ignorance.

Granted, there are quite a few people that really wouldn't date someone who smoked cigarettes or weed... I don't know.

It's hard to explain it. Sometimes, threads happen and that whole "bandwagon" thing takes effect. Way too many people were looking at it black and white in the other thread, if you know what I mean.

I am allergic to them, so it would have to be a really special guy. And then I would lie around with flu-like symptoms, have red eyes and a sniifle, start to develop laryngitis... and perhaps barf :D

No way... if they are smoking once a week it's only a matter of time before they smoke daily.

I am too allergic to cigarette smoke to deal with that nonsense.

That is a myth. I buy a pack and it will last me a week or more. Been that far for years. I buy one maybe once every 3 months.

If the person clicks with me there's no reason I wouldn't. But I will try to get the person to stop smoking eventually.

No way whatsoever. By the time they hit their late twenty's they would be looking like they were in their 40s. No way I'm damaging my lungs. I like them clean and healthy.

I was out with a girl last night who is 27 and has been smoking for 12 years. She was carded at the bar, while the Bartender just looked at me.

Most of my friends smoke, or did for years. All the girls still get regulaly carded. I've even been carded recently.

How old are you, 14?

My "first" smoked cirgarettes, and I still fondly remember the smell and taste. I will NEVER smoke, but there's still something about it now that makes me smile (shhh, don't tell the wife!).

I could date someone, but couldn't marry them. I don't want to marry someone and have to support their expensive habit. Plus, stale smoke in a house is really nasty. I wouldn't let anyone smoke inside my house.

i'd have a tough time if he smoked, and i'd want him to quit. i don't think i could commit to him if he didn't kick the habit.

I am one of those people who would not date someone who smokes weed or cigarettes. Maybe I am odd?
