Yes, I mean if you had more than 5 sex partners in your lifetime, then you probably already have it by probability.
Many people don't even know they have it, they only know it when it breaks out.

i'm curious...how do u really work around it?
i mean...no kissing, no oral, no regular sex...doesn't leave much left.

if i really loved her, we'd work around it.

And by "work around it" I mean anal.

Fixed.

still too close for me.

i voted yes, thinking that i would make sure the pants stayed on and oral for me would be all she wrote, but i think i changed my mind after reading here. all this mutation stuff...eeewwwwww! maybe i would decide by posting a poll here if it ever happened

Isn't it true that 1/3 of the population in the US have Herpes???

I've heard that. It seems a bit outrageous. If that were true, than pretty much every person who has had sex with more than one partner has herpes.

many can be just carriers, but never express the virus

if you love the person, there are no boundaries

shallow folk...get a clue

Got herpes?

but you know people on AT, probably less than 20%....

Considering I have herpes as well, I don't necessarily have a problem with it, provided we both live well enough to avoid constant outbreaks.

I have to go with no on this as well. One of the few benefits of hardly ever getting laid is that I'm clean. Why should I pay the price of whoring around when I never got the benefits?

I suppose if she was amazingly spectactular I could *maybe* get over it....

....no, not even then. I don't know.

Its really irrelevant since I'm getting married next fall.

You just wait for the break-out period to end (which can last a few to several weeks). IIRC, it's not contagious when it's dormant (which can last in periods of months to years....or it may never break out). But I'm not sure about that. You'd be best off researching that yourself.

I think its not as contagious...but if perscription drug commercials have taught me anything, its that even with treatment it may be possible to spread gential herpes to others. Even with perscription valtrax.

no. the only thing that should be oozing out down there is a fresh batch of my baby batter.

haha baby batter.

It would depend. If she tells me before we started dating then no. If we started dating and i have already fallen for her then i'll probably find a way to deal with it.

ahhh herpes A...gotcha

herpes simplex 1 is no big deal. its like getting the occasional pimple on the lip. I don't know if I got it or not, but I would certainly date a girl that had it. Lots of children get it from their mothers who tend to kiss them lots when they are little. A completely natural form of transmission.

herpes simplex 2 is another story. if I was sure that it was contracted during a lot of multipartner unprotected sex, then I'd assume that she has HPV as well. in my book, two strikes and you are out. that's only if she tells me she has HSV-2 of course. if she's a good gal that had strong past relationships, I'd date her in a second. Condoms work well against HSV-2.
