Would you buy a used mattress?

that right there is the reason. Who knows what has been done on that mattress.......

People buy and sell used mattresses on craigslist all the time. I don't think I would do it....I'd hate to think the mattress had more action than I have.

We bought a friend's queen bed for one of our spare bedrooms. No problem with doing that as we know the source, but I'd never buy one used without knowing where it came from.

better yet, ask around your friends and family if they are looking into getting rid of a mattress...at least you know whos love goo is on it :-/

steam clean it and then wrap it in plastic.

I think i've slept on much worse - cockroach infested bunk beds on a fishing boat. :disgust:

I suppose you people who think it would be too gross to buy a used mattress have never stayed at a hotel?

that's reaching a bit. staying at a hotel for a limited time > owning a pre-owned mattress.

I would never buy a used mattress, but I did take a slightly used one from my sister. People give away free mattresses all the time. Last year I put my king size up on Craigslist, and I had tons of responses. Someone came the next day from an hours drive away to pick it up.

Point being->Don't buy a used mattress, Get a free one.

Yah...I guess all you guys take your own mattresses to Motels?

In case you don't know, there is a wonderful invention.... Its called sheets!!!

EDIT: Beaten to the post

Why? If sanitation is the reason you wouldn't buy it, what difference does it make if it's for a couple days vs 9 months?

Why? What is the difference? You sleep on it once, you sleep on it 1000 times. How is that any more icky? I mean I'm assuming you keep clean sheets on it.
