All Copper

If there's not much of a diffrence, is it worth the extra $12 to get the copper one anyway?

There isn't much difference, but they are both on the old side, think about a newer design if i were you.
No, they don't.Originally posted by: Smartazz

Like the design that blows across from the cpu instead of toward it, those cost considerably more

The Arctic cooling 64 or whatever it's called gets good writeups and is relativly cheap, worth considering at the least.

I recently purchased a 7700 Cu, and I found it to be pretty heavy. If you were dead set on the 7700, I would get the Al-Cu version. It will be much lighter and perform almost the same.
I have also used the 7000 Al-Cu and found it to perform almost as well as the 7700, plus it is quieter. I would actually recommend the 7000 over the 7700.
That being said, I just got a 9500 and this thing is amazing. It's quiet, and cools amazingly well. Perhaps consider this or a newer heatpipe cooler such as the Scythe Ninja already suggested over the older 7x00 series Zalmans.
