Motherboard And Processor Bundle
Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 & DFI LANParty nForce 590 SLI ~

RAM
G.Skill Extreme F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ DDR2-1066 2GB Kit ~ $948
(Is this ram good?) Would be adding another 2GB when Windows Vista is out

Graphics Cards
Dual Asus GeForce 7950GX2 1GB PCI Express ~ $2038

Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro ~ $588

Harddisk Drive
Quad Seagate 7200.10 16MB Sata II 320GB in RAID 0+1 Configuration ~ $676
Seagate 7200.10 16MB Sata II 500GB ~ $419

Power Supply Unit
PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1KW-Quad SLI ~ ?

Casing
Armor LCS VE2000BWS ~ $459

I would like to know what hacked drivers out there that can support QUAD SLI? When I install the hacked driver, do I boot into windows without enabling Quad SLI then after installation then enable back Quad SLI by putting the SLI bridge back?

Is there any guide on how to enable Raid 0+1?

Would like to know if my Quad 7950GX2 SLI will be able to suppot Dell 30inch LCD or Apple 30inch LCD as i am considering to get 1 to maximised my quad sli performance. Thanks!

You're better off getting AM2 if it supports quad-sli (I'm not quite sure), but wow. Just wow. It can definitely support the Dell, but I think you need a special adapter or something for the Apple.

First off, you have too much money to spend. That being said, heres my critiqs.

For one, DFI almost exclusively caters only to AMD chips with their top of the line boards. They do offer Intel based boards, but they are typically not up to par with their AMD ones. I would suggest getting the ASUS N-Force 590-SLI board as an alternative to the DFI.

If you going to spend 1000 dollars on ram, stick with a more trusted company than G.Skill. I personally use G.SKill but I had to manually adjust every timing on them just to make them work at stock (they were auto-detected to total wack-ass settings that didnt work at all)

For hard drives, The quad 7200.10 0+1 is a good idea only if you plan on getting a SATA-RAID card for hardware raid. Otherwise your likely to slow yourself down dealing with a software 0+1. For storage, go with the 7200.10 750GB, no sense in settling for 500GB if you got the money (plus it can be had for under 400)

The PCP&C is an excellent Power Supply, but note it IS LONG. The one on my high-def station required me removing a bracket from my Lian-Li PC-201 case just to make it fit. However it is the best PS availible.

If you got the money, why are you settling for a pre-built liquid cooling system? If I were you I would buy a case that I thought looked the best to me, and then custom build a water cooling setup. You can get much better performance.

*edit* And yes, the dell 3007 WFP is a godly awesome screen, and will work with Quad SLI. The 2560x1600 screen resolution just cant be described without seeing it in action. I love using mine at work. Keep in mind though, SLI only allows use of 1 screen, not like youd need more than one with a 3007.

you will, at the moment, get worse performance with a quad sli setup than a regular sli set up. Eg, 7900gtx sli will kick the ass out of 7950GX2 quad (infact, due to lack of driver support, in some games a single 7900gtx will win over quad). Not even worth bothering with at the moment. It wont even work! As you have the cash, get a single 7950GX2 now and save the rest for the DX10 cards.

Maybe he works for USAF?

Don't get the Elite pro. Useless without decent (64bit) and Vista drivers. Utterly useless.

Err, ram shouldn't cost nearly as much as that. My laptop 1GB DDR2 stick was $70. Desktop sticks should be comparable or cheaper? If you have that much money, may I recommend getting some 150GB Raptor hard drives and the Radeon X1900XT/X. I'd also back down the Xfi to an Extreme Music or something. I believe that'd be a similar part at <$100.

Corsair Twin2X2048-8500C5 2x1GB DDR2 1066MHz is this a better choice?

Will be getting a sata raid card. but any recommendation for sata raid card out there?
750GB is far too expensive ard 750 SGD while 500gb is ard 419

Do you think thermaltake Armor LCS would be able to fit the powersupply?

Not so good at wcooling so will just use prebuild system

get the fastest conroe and water cool it, fvck the expensive case!

put your tops on a dual x1900XTX 512

the elite pro sucks if you're not going to use everything that comes with it, the x-fi music performs the same except without the remote and the panel crap

if you're not going anywhere near the professional level of audio technology don't even sniff it

you can just get a 5.1 setup for a hundred bucks, hook it up to the X-fi Music and you're square. who the hell needs all the fancy stuff if you aren't going to utilize it. spend the extra money on softwre.

ok, hooooooly crap. you have a big budget and the wrong ideas.

#1

Get the Asus nforce 590 intel edition motherboard. Im not sure what they will call it. Make sure you dont confuse this board with the P5N32-SLI SE. Thats a revised nforce 4 intel edition board for conroe.

#2

Get the 2GB kit of corsair 8500C5 ram. Not G.Skill...

#3

Dual ASUS 7950GX2? what are you nutz? BFG please. dont pay more for something thats not worth more.

#4

X-fi Elite pro. wow. honestly Id rather purchase a whore than that. If you must brag about your 64 mb of X-ram get the fatality. otherwise stick with the Xtrememusic.

#5

With this budget, if you dont do SCSI or at least buy raptors, you need to be shown directions to the mental hospital.

You dont need hacked drivers for quad sli, the 91.37 beta drivers do the trick.

Folllow the motherboard manual on how to setup Raid with your motherboard.

Yes your quad SLi will support a 30 incher. thats what quad sli was made for smart guy.

Will check on that. don't see it on asus website. as conroe has not hit singapore shores, so i think i go to wait for a few more weeks for more boards to come in

YEp will get tt.. its even cheaper

I am from singapore... so i choose asus cause i need to pay 20bucks more for extended warranty

#4

X-fi Elite pro. wow. honestly Id rather purchase a whore than that. If you must brag about your 64 mb of X-ram get the fatality. otherwise stick with the Xtrememusic.
but is x-fi elite pro the best?

Although i got a huge budget, but its just too expensive already

Just saw it on tuesday

Folllow the motherboard manual on how to setup Raid with your motherboard.

Yes your quad SLi will support a 30 incher. thats what quad sli was made for smart guy.
Heard that u can play a selected number of games on it.. possible to reduce the resolution of some games n play games on it like warcraft etc?

Btw u mention that dfi intel motherboard r not up 2 par with their amd ones. is it the overclocking that is not up to par or is the quality that is not up 2 par? n i dun see any asus nforce 590 sli motherboard that support conroe on asus webstie
