Would it be possible to file suit on behalf of the earth?

OK, so here's the deal. I was driving along behind a car today when I saw them throw out their mcDonalds bag out their back window. I flipped them off and honked my horn and screamed "****** you" appropriately so they got the picture, but then I thought to myself.... and that's a bad thing.

Surely, the earth as an entity would have standing for civil damages against these individuals. After all, if someone threw a McDonalds bag on me, and it was forced to stick to me for a very long time and damage my health, I would definitely have standing. So the earth has standing too.

But since the earth can't talk, but it IS an entity, are there any loop holes where one could take these individuals to court representing the earth?

Just my mind wandering on a Friday afternoon.

Earth is neither a person nor a corporation, so no.

I'm 3 days into my civil torts class btw.

The earth is not an entity. It is an inanimate object, which is covered by animate objects.

THe animate objects might have standing, but the Earth is basically a ball of dirt and water.

After further reflection, this is the stupidest thing I have read in a long time.

This is like saying that my toilet paper has the right to sue me for wiping sh!t on it.

Paper bags are biodegradable.

The earth loves em. It's just YOU that thinks they're ugly.

People are biodegradeable too. You just have to kill them first.

Not if they are buried in an airtight box and vault in the ground.

Yes, we will accept this juror, no further questions.
