What is your current GPU? I expect performance will be much better than not having the 760, and if you were to upgrade your chipset and CPU in the future you could get even more FPS.
The catalyst drivers should only install the necessary components, so the graphics drivers will be left out and you can still download the latest Nvidia.
Anybody know how much performance I should expect to get using a new GTX 760 with an older AMD based motherboard? The board is an ASUS M3A78-T which uses the AMD 790GX/SB750 chipset and PCIe 2.0.
My current GPU is a 5770.
Oh, I spent a lot of time looking.
It's not very intuitive, I agree.

Choose 'Integrated Motherboard Graphics' on the left at Step 1.
Step 2: AMD 7-Series Chipsets
Step 3: All 7-Series Chipsets
Step 4: Windows 8 64-bit (or whatever OS you are running)
Step 5: Display Results
and you get just the chipset drivers, RAID and AMD RaidXPert utility choices.
