Would 3 Way 670's have any issue feeding 5760 X 1080?

Thinking about taking my gaming experience to the next level. Thinking about adding two more GD235Hz's to my setup. Would TRI have any issue feeding that resolution?

I think that would work well actually.

Think of it this way: Could a single GTX 670 power a single 1080p display? The answer is a definitive "yes".

Now, you will need to factor in SLI scaling, but I still think you would do fine with that type of setup.

You might not hit 120fps is all.

Thanks sick. I think 3 way with overclocking would work very well. If not i could always add a 4th

You're welcome.

I doubt you would need 4 cards, but given the way you go about things I predict you will have quad SLI in the near future. :)

You might even be able to get by with only two 670s for that type of setup.

I already have 2. Might as well add a 3rd for benching as well :D

Quad SLI intrigues me. I love the sound of "Quad SLI" but the scaling just isn't there with 4. Maybe at that high resolution it would be useful

Hopefully they've improved the scaling.

I agree that having four cards in SLI is super cool. You'll probably need that many cards if you want to push 120fps in games like Crysis.

I would get the 2 extra panels first and see where you are at with 670SLI

Agreed. This will also give you a chance to evaluate the performance with 2gig cards. IF that ends up being an issue, then it won't matter how many cards you add, it won't fix it.

+1.

5760x1080 maxed out might give you some issues with only 2GB of vram.

Don is the most extreme hardware guy in the freaking forums,i'm still drooling over my 2 gtx670 cards and this guy wants another one if not a 4th.

Gotta love him for that.

I would think 2GB of texture memory should suffice for most games, even at 5760x1080. Looking forward to seeing your results, Don Karnage. I'm Getting ASUS GTX 670 DCII SLI this coming weekend. However, I only run a single 26" 1920x1200 display. But have a 24" 1920x1080 as secondary display.

Don I need your income!

My wife kills me as it is

I once had a lady moving into my house. I isolated myself in the computer room, which she made me creating.. because of the noise I made in my living room, using computers and gaming.

I almost never left my newestablished computer room, and she left me pretty fast. I didn't like her anyway.

Point is, computer stuff and ladies don't mix well :D

I honestly think you should just try it with 2 670s for now. If you are not happy, then buy a 3rd. I have a feeling 2 will be fine.

I currently run 3 Gigabyte 670 OC on a G1 Sniper 3 and 3570K. Still troubelshooting right now. It seems I can't get stability with with the 3 cards running 3 monitors. The cards previously were on an Asus RE3/980X and ran rock solid. I typically play on low settings and it seems that framrate scaling ends with 2 cards. Adding the 3rd card does not improve fps but can play on ultra (no MSAA) at 80 fps. In short, I'd have been happy with just the 2 cards and now that I'm playing DayZ, SLI is useless.

I hear lots of things about Gigabyte Z77 boards. So many issues.

Same setup I have Don. 3x gd235hz's ... I run em on 2x680's and havent had anything run poorly yet. Metro 2033 wont play in 3d at 5760x1080 thats the only thing I have choked on. Pretty sure I need more vram, not more horsepower.

Takes up alot of desk space, Beware though, since the displays have the stupid bevel on the bottom you cant run them in portrait without de-bezeling. I debezeled one of them and its easy to do, I just think it looked crappy that way, and you cant attach the stands via the vesa mounting holes.
