gentobu'advice sounds the best if you want to keep your Mac, but unless you have no choice, I'd say the best thing to do would be to RMA the whole unit & replace it with a Win XP based laptop, not only is XP
much better then any version of windows before it, I've seen those Apple displays next to the newest 15 &
17 inch Sonys & man, I'm sorry to say that if you think the Apple looks better, then its time to see an eye doctor (no sarcasm intended).... although I admit that Sony doesn't inspire the highest degree of confidence in me as far as their notebooks do, those displays are about the best thing I've seen on
ANY computer of any type, including high-end CRT's.... the only downer is the laptop will be larger & heavier, but it will be considerably faster too.... whatever you do though, I feel your pain & I hope you get things straightened out... I just went through a similar experience with an Asus motherboard, which took 4 tries to correct, so bad tech support is by no means limited to Apple.
