My pick is a toss up between McDonalds anything and Coke anything. For being such commercial juggernaughts you think they could hire a remotely competent marketing team. I can't begin to describe how irritating these campagins are to me.

How about you?

I concur.

Seeing McDonald's "pretending we're hiphop and down wit it, yo" BS and Coke's annoying campaigns makes me never want to indulge in either, ever again.

I'm also annoyed by Jared (the Subway guy). Thank goodness Carrot Top seems to have been pahsed out by AT&T...

There's some business that keeps advertising on the radio that they offer discounts for people 55 "or better". That pisses me off for some reason. Honestly, I doubt old people enjoy the patronization any more than young people enjoy the implied insult and defacement of the english language.

Geico commercials are awesome though :)

McDonald's has some of the worst ones ever, indeed. Of course one that pisses me off even more than that are the herpes medication ads that immediately start in with "Living with Genital Herpes...." While I'm eating! In the middle of it! No warning, no chance to change the channel, just instantly cut to, "my vagina has things living in it, BLAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

There's a local-ish loan company called the Dollar Loan Center here. They ran a radio spot with a guy singing about how he bet his rent money on the Raiders and lost, which was followed by the announcer saying, "if your only gambling problem is not having enough money...." Not much offends me, but that was sure one thing that did it.

Well, the "Wendy's unofficial spokeman" commercials were soo stupid, so they get my vote.

There's a college around me that's been running radio ads that don't ever name the college... I still have no idea what college is running the ads.

McDonalds has been pretty bad. But for long term revulsion I have to go with Old Navy. And in third place, Kia.

McDonalds has got to be up there...

If not them there's a car dealership 30 minutes south of me that plays TV spots all the time... Basically the comerical is different car salesmen and kids and crap standing around with the bigget southern drawls saying "We're Dealin'". It wouldn't be so bad, but they play it about 100x a day :(

Another: those lame Charter ads with Dan Akroyd(sp?). Mostly because it's a pack of lies, all of it. My folks have had a satellite dish for more than 7 years and it's never cut out in the rain, snow, lightning or anything. The only thing we've run into is the fact that they won't give my folks access to the national feeds of network stations because federal law prohibits it when you can receive the station via antenna. So yeah, that pisses me off a lot.

What he said.

Also any cableco or verizon ad, because they're just smear campaigns (verizon's aren't as bad, but they have poor Darth Vader out there badmouthing cable! :().

If they don't tell you what it is for, they don't have to tell you the side effects. I'm torn between not knowing what something is for and hearing "anal leakage" and "severe sexual side effects" 10 times a day though.

Marketing is about branding, not about making you love them. It doesn't matter that you hate McDonald's and Coke commercials, you REMEMBER them, and that's the key. Studies STILL back up the claim that people will prefer Pepsi in a blind taste test and STILL run out and buy more and more Coke.

The worst commercials are the ones you don't remember.

Although I will say that I personally thought the American Cancer Society's cute fuzzy colon polyp mascot was pretty disturbing.

This one is local, but it still sucks the big one.

For an outlet mall - instead of a regular mall. "Windsor Crossings has it all - when you think outside the mall."

I heard that and was like... um, that's all you got? So while they were brainstorming, someone said "we have to think outside the box on this one" and some chump said "EUREKA! THINK OUTSIDE THE MALL!!" ew
