I've gone through some pretty bad customer service, but this one was bad. Got there at 830pm, they close at 9pm and left at 920pm, I'm thinking about calling up headquarters, but I dunno if I want to go through the aggrevation. Okay here's what happened, LMk what you think:

1.) Picked up the Mario Sunshine Gamecube Bundle, and Metroid Prime for Gamecube, and took it up to the desk.

2.) She rang it up, and told me $225 or something like that, and I was like "You're suppoused to get the Metroid Prime for free, because of the special that's on that sign right there". She said "No, that's not for the Bundle, only for the Gamecube alone". I said "It doesn't say anywhere on that sign it's only for the bundle, becaues it just says "with Purchase of Nintendo Gamecube". Also, what you're telling me doesn't make sense, because the price of the System alone is $149.99 and the sign says $149.95." She tells me to go to the Manager

3.) Walked up to the manager, and she argues the same way that the first lady did. I stuck to my claim, that it isn't the right price, doesn't state anywhere on the sign that it doesn't include the bundle, and the Sunshine game that comes in the Bundle isn't one of the "free" games.

4.) A few more people walk up. This 20+- yr old comes up to me, and says "DAWG, they're 2 totally different things, it's not gonna work". I was like "I'm not a dawg, thanks. I'm a human being". He was like "Whatever, I'll talk to you like a Salesperson then" and sticks with the 2 different things story.

5.) I was persitant that the sign was misleading, and the 20yr old lips off to me again. I said "Listen, man you're being a total Jackass". He walks up to me and goes, "Why dont' you wait, I GET OFF OF WORK AT 9:30". I was like "That's great customer service, challenging the customer to a fight."

6.) The manager tells the 20yr old to calm down, and the manager then persists on his story. Then I ask for their names. The 20yr old goes right away "I didn't mean a DAWG, I meant a friend." and the manager goes "Ya, a friend like a Chief, or something".

7.) I said "You're not understand me, what you're saying isn't going to work, I want the stuff for the price I should get it for, $160. You're even selling the Gamecube System above MSRP of $149.99" Then the manager was like "In the name of customer service, how about I give you the bundle, and the game for the price of the bundle?". I said "That's what I've been trying to do the whole time!"

8.) I get the bundle, and this other guy goes "You sure do have an attitude" and walks away and said something under his breath.

What do you guys think?

Gamecube Sunshine Bundle - Gamecube, Mario Sunshine Game, an Memory Card - $159.99
Gamecube System - Gamecube - $149.99

Here's the basic idea of the sign

That's sort of redundant, worse experience ever at circuit city.

That's like saying you had a great time at scores.

I have no idea what to think because I have no clue what you mean by this "bundle" thing. What do you mean by the "bundle"?

you can get a gamecube, controller, super mario sunshine, and a memory card for like $179.99 (or is it 169.99?)

i think WHSLacrossekid was right, but i doubt it'd be worth taking it any farther. You got whatchoo wanted, and you have a story to tell!

I think I'd have to see the sign and what it actually says, but I think you knew the Mario Sunshine bundle wasn't in the spirit of the promotion but tested the waters anyway. Yeah, I guess the clerk and manager weren't too happy with you (I know *I* wouldn't, last guy in the store trying to fuss with misleading advertising, what's defined by "system", etc.) but you got what you wanted anyway so I'd think twice about complaining.

And if the poster at Nintendo has the same gist as the flyer at Circuit City, then the $149.95 MSRP should've meant something to you.

I'd probably have been the 20 year old. I hate when people argue so much.. unless of course the sign was really misleading... in which case, I'd probably be you... (cept I dont' say dawg to live people, in my defense)

I think you have a slight attitude problem.... From the sound of it you were taking the thing a lot more defensively than you really should. I work at a store too, and I'd be annoyed to have a guy come up to me and take advantage of the prices we sell. They were only 'attacking' you because they sensed your purpose was just to rip them off. Sorry to break it to ya.

and the manager goes "Ya, a friend like a Chief, or something"
Where I come from, it's insulting to call people "Chief." And I'm not far from where you come from :)

boy, i don't know man. i mean it shouldn't matter to them which system you buy with the free game. but honestly, i fail to see how the sign was in any way misleading. they clearly identified which system the deal refered to by stating the price, because there was only one option at that price. also, the sign said "System" not "Bundle." by trying to buy a different item that didn't even have the same price, i think it's pretty clear you were bending the rules, and you're lucky they let you. you didn't deserve to get the deal at all, and it's no wonder they were pissed at you. that said, they dealt with the situation poorly. if they had any sense, the manager would simply have said "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. have a nice night." and the guy challenging you is pretty ridiculous. i'd say never go there again, but i'd also say circuit city doesn't want you back anyway, and with good reason.

The customer service you received was truly aweful. However, the deal you were trying to score is against the intent of the offer. You are essentially getting two games for free by buying the bundle and getting Metroid. I viewed the bundle as getting Mario Sunshine for free and a memory card for $10, which is a great deal. Sorry, but ultimately you were in the wrong here.

I don't know the specifics of the deal, but did it ever occur to you that you are WRONG? Because I think you are; did the sign say "free with gamecube or gamecube bundle?" Nope. And who the hell whines about being called 'dawg'? Little girls, whiney little girls. If I were you, I'd shut my whiney little mouth, you got the deal you weren't supposed to get, so be quiet.
