If I can take the time to read up on the product, then THEY can take the time to know WTF they are talking about. Isn't that why they are there? To answer questions about this or that.

Good grief, man. It's not like I'm asking them about voltages and ohms running thru the device. I'm asking them if I can do this or that with it. SIMPLE questions that they should know.

What makes you think I'm better off than anyone else anyway? I'm not "looking down on them". I just expect that they know WTF they are talking about - not feed me a line of BS that makes no sense.

There's the problem right there, far too many people working retail like yourself sound just like that ;)

I know what am talking about with everything in my department, if i dont, then i find out for the customer....either ask another employee, or go look it up on the web. It is funny when customers come in and ratle off 10 different facts...say about a dig camera, then you point out some of theirs are wrong and give some more to rub it in. lol, i love customers that think they know everything.

They're giving Primal Fury away with purchase of a Gamecube this week. Sweet, time to get me another game for free!

1) Good deal, yes you were right.

2) You're a jackass...the salesperson who called you a "dawg" was just trying to be friendly, and unless you're 95 years old, I think you could have been at least a little nicer to him.

The attitude of the staff sounds more like Best Buy then it does Circuit City, but I'm sure crappy attitudes vary from store to store and from region to region. :p

As stated before in this thread; the offer is paid for by Nintendo, and applies to the purchase of the 'Cube and not the bundle. Two different SKU's, so the deal really doesn't apply. Even though getting the bundle without the free game doesn't sound like as good of deal as the other way around, the free game is a limited time offer, so it doesn't matter what is a better deal. What matters is how Circuit City is going to get paid for that game.

Dawg, you got it your way. Drop it. Yeah, the people that worked there had a crappy attitude. What can you do. I would to if I had to put up with crap like this for $8/hr... but you just stole $FreeGame from Circuit City that isn't going to get reimbursed by Nintendo. Feel victorious and next week drive to Florida, walk into a Best Buy and feel the true essence of bad customer service. :)

All I can say is that you are one cheap-ass bastard. Go ahead and complain to headquarters, they'll just laugh at your sorry ass. Never have I heard of someone pulling this kind of crap crying like a baby.

Ummmm Lacrosse, you're forgetting what MSRP stands for, in case you don't remember it's Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, that's right SUGGESTED not SET not DEMANDED but SUGGESTED. If Circuit City wanted to sell the system for $199.99 and people bought it for that price they would be WELL WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS. Insofar as to the whole incident I frankly would have done it a little differently and still handled you politely even though you were being headstrong and told you the price you could purchase it at or leave the store. I've had to deal with a lot of folks like you in my 7 years of retail experience, thank goodness I'm done with that, and that is usually what happens with people like you. Just one pointer, if you happen to be nice about the whole deal and it is something that I can understand that there was a misplaced/misworded sign THEN I might cut you a break. If you're an a*hole about it like I seem to be gathering from this thread you would get me telling you in the most polite way I could to go take a hike.

no, the customer is not always right, and its people like you who make yourself look like a retard yelling about this or that."we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" why would a retailer want your money if your going to be an a hole all the time in their store. Probably lose more customer sales while you are screaming than just booting your ass out the door.

Gone are the days when the customer was told "that's not the deal" by a rep, they'd say "ok" and leave. Nowadays, there's people trying to take advantage of things that are "implied". I'm not saying this was your situation at CC, but it's the trend. Why do you think they have to warn people that coffee is hot ? It was to save their own as$es. Do you honestly think they would put up the words (but not the bundle) on the same sign? No. So if it were me going to buy the thing, bring it to the register and the cashier says the system is ringing up as NOT part of the free game deal, then I'd ask them to make sure it's not (valid in their system) and I'd be done with it. I wouldn't go and argue with a manager on a technicality.

I did take CC on a misprint in their holiday ad this past Black Friday, but that's because it was printed incorrectly and they were selling it for the advertised price anyway to make up for their mistake. They kept their customers happy by honoring the ad (before a corporate memo was passed out), while losing out on $200. The managers will treat you right as long as you aren't trying to seemingly rip them off. It's always the manager's call unless they get word from upstairs.

Besides, you made out with the product... yet you still bad-mouth them... how did they benefit by giving you what you argued for? They didn't. They still let you walk out with it. You did rip them off IMO... even though technically you did nothing wrong except push.

Actually, I don't see anywhere on that that it says you were right. I see you have stooped to insults, just like you did in the store. Just so you know, I could lay into you like you wouldn't believe, I could leave you crying for your mommy afterwards. But I have something you don't, poise and restraint, so I will let you off with this: You were still wrong.

i hate to break it to you, but you shouldn't have gotten the Sunshine Bundle and the Free Game deal. The bundle is in itself a free game deal (you get sunshine for free and the mem card at a discount.) And if you look in the ad, it probably says deal only valid on system and game, not sunshine bundle. But you did get a sweet deal.
