That is a pretty nice shell. I wonder how much each one costs - $5? $10?

You mean the grenade shotgun shell with the pop out fins? I bet it's insanely priced at $500 per round, at least. And I sure wouldn't want to fire one and have it stuck in the chamber or barrel while another one banged into it a few seconds later. That's an explosive round that should be fired sparingly.
I also wouldn't want to fire a bunch of regular shotgun shells in a row after the barrel and the gun heated up a lot. Anyone who has had an automatic heat up and jam can tell you about that. And I certainly wouldn't want to be firing a grenade round when that happened. They would be picking up pieces of you with tweezers and a squeegee after.
And I think the most sane way to use that auto shotgun would be with regular 12 gauge slugs, not birdshot like they used. Birdshot or buckshot would damage the inside of the barrel faster than slugs would in auto mode. And slugs would travel farther and more accurately. Birdshot or buckshot in automatic mode could also bounce off hard surfaces and it would be more likely to ricochet back at the shooter at close range, too.
Overall, this is a limited use tactical weapon. And when a bunch of them randomly jam and blow up while in actual use, you would see just how limited the use would actually be. This is little more than a prototype at this stage. I wouldn't want to fire one and be a beta tester on one now. Maybe in a few years after a few modifications, though. Then you might see them occasionally in use in the military or on swat teams.
