Ok, so you admit you were wrong. Great.

No, I'm clarifying that your heroes authorized the war.

Thanks for playing.

I think you need to go back and read the thread. Our discussion was initially about the IRS.

Maybe you got sidetracked by a FoxNews special on Brittney.

I think after we cut off the billions in aid we send to, like, everyone, they might actually not be such RP fans.

But But But---they won't find themselves in the Saddam Huessein boat either---Republican Presidents do have a nasty habit of taking vengeance on world leaders who won't stay bought.
And if you don't believe me, ask Noreiga for a second opinion.

The only thing I really like about Ron Paul is watching how the mere mention of his name puts the usual partisan hacks into bed together.

At this point, I was thinking about writing in my neighbor's dog.

No, you tried to say that the POTUS has no authority to send forces -- ever -- without Congressional approval. You were wrong...then you said that, well, Congress authorized and supported the war. That was correct, which is what I was referring to.

I don't watch Fox News. Do you?

If you want to go to war , then have congress declare war!!!!!
The President needs to follow the constitution and not just pass resolutions...........

Go read up and come back. You might also want to peruse the War Powers Act.

Yeah, the "war powers act"

Text

Nice little tidbit I read:

The War Powers Act allows the President to use military forces for 60 days, without a formal declaration of war by Congress. It also grants an additional 30 days upon a formal request by the President, regardless of Congress's agreement with the request.

So why have we passed 3+ years? Why no formal declaration of war?

The war was over pretty quickly. Much less than 60 days. Don't you remember Emperor Bush standing on that aircraft carrier with the big "Mission Accomplished" banner? The military operations in Iraq were over on that day. Now we're just there keeping the peace. . .right?

No, those people think they need to be saved from the terrorist.

Ah, right.

So only the Ron Paul spammers...nutjobs...are voting of "true" intentions...right?

That's some powerful kool-aid Dr. Paul is handing out.

Negative. Paul is dumping the kool-aid. ;)

Nooooo! It's been fun blowing shit up! ;)

But.....if this Paul can really get rid of the IRS, even I might vote for him.

The President doesnt have the authority to get rid of the IRS.

He does have the authority to veto any spending bill that appropriates any money at all to the IRS.
