Same as @IronWing 's thread, but with the rest of the world.

1 point if you stepped on their soil - airside airports DO NOT COUNT.
2 points if you slept there
3 points if you met with someone you know who lives there (even if you didn't sleep)
5 points if you lived there, i,e, you have your own house.

.. i'm not counting microstates.

I don't get out much. I'd have 12 but OP doesn't like airports. You may not think airports represent the host country but let me tell you something: the Frankfurt airport is as German as Germany gets.

as in you stepped foot in that country to meet a person there? (45) or you know someone that lives in that country and have physically met him before? (90+)

Why does meeting someone who lives there count for more than sleeping there? Are they cumulative?
My understanding is that there are people who travel in hope of interacting with people from different cultures. I know, it's damn weird. My ideal travel includes all the locals vacationing elsewhere when I come to visit.

I guess it just seems weird to me that going to another country and hanging out with someone for a couple hours counts for more than being there long enough to sleep overnight (where, one assumes you would probably meet locals?)

Right? Also I know a lot of American current and past consultants who have lived in various countries for a up to a couple years so that would rapidly inflate my numbers

Don't you get that just by living in a multicultural city like Toronto?

Just In my cul-de-sac I have England, Scotland, India, Pakistan, Italy and Taiwan.

no, i assume if you go to a country and you have a friend there, this gives you more insight into what's it like to live in that country than just staying at a hotel and eating at restaurants.

That sort of takes it just beyond a "travel" game then? I think you rigged the game to get yourself points 😛

Counting home country.

Though would you count entering water space? Ive paddled in canadian waters in the bwca. Not sure ive stepped foot on soil. If not, then 8.
edit: think one of the portages on the canadian side was nicer, so we used it.

41 for me, traveled a fair bit but I don't really know anyone who lives in a foreign country anymore.
