Okay, here's the "official" word from my contact at Blizzard.

The current plans state that there will eventually be an Open Beta. When it will happen is anyone's guess, but I assume it'll be at least a few pushes down the line.

It'll be big news when it happens, though. Keep an eye on the main WoW page.

I doubt they'll have an open beta.
I don't think it's in the works either. I have a friend working at Blizzard and he hasn't mentioned anything about one.

Well, there really is no reason to have one... it's not like there's zero interest in the closed beta, if they need more testers, they'll just send out more invites...

Personally, I may just stay away from WoW because of the whole "not enough free time to get a good character" problem.

i thought they were doing away with part of the slow leveling for casual gamers... i heard something about if you sleep at an inn for 8 hours you get a 200% exp bonus when you start playing again and it takes 4-5 hours for the 200% to fall back to 100%

could be wrong and probably am

that would be fawking sexy.. but it still wont work since everyone can use it.. the power levelers will definitely use that to their advantage..

Yeah it's called the rest system... the longer you play without resting, the less exp you get. I'm not sure about the exact % but it's something like that.
